The Yellowjackets season three finale, titled “Full Circle,” brings the survival thriller back to where it all began—with the haunting hunt scene from the pilot. But this time, the masked girls chasing one of their own are no longer a mystery. With gruesome revelations, long-awaited answers, and a chilling setup for season four, the episode ties the past and present together in shocking ways.
Lottie’s grip on the group begins to shatter when the animals in the pen mysteriously die. But it’s no wilderness magic—she convinces Akilah to poison them to preserve the illusion of the wilderness’s power. When Akilah confronts her about it later, she disappears entirely. Whether Lottie killed her or scared her into hiding, one thing becomes clear: the supernatural might’ve been a cover for manipulation all along.
The finale finally answers one of the series’ biggest questions: Pit Girl is Mari (played by Alexa Barajas). In a rigged card draw orchestrated by Tai to sacrifice outsider Hannah, Shauna demands a fair draw. When Mari picks the fatal Queen of Hearts, she runs, dressed in white—mirroring the iconic opening scene. She falls into the trap and is ultimately butchered on Shauna’s command.
This gruesome moment completes Shauna’s transformation into the Antler Queen. She said that she saw the writing on the wall. Sophie Nélisse (Teen Shauna) told Business Insider, adding, “Is that enough to soothe her need for vengeance and power?”
As the others descend into ritual and chaos, Natalie secretly plans an escape. With Hannah’s help, she climbs a tree to use the satellite phone of a dead scientist. Wearing Natalie’s clothes, Hannah distracts the others long enough for her to make the call—marking what will likely be the beginning of the group’s rescue in season four.
Though many fans expected Lottie or Natalie to wear the crown, the finale reveals that Shauna has claimed the throne. After stopping the group from escaping with two scientists and a guide, Shauna takes full control. Her brutality, her leadership, and her detachment all point to her embracing the Antler Queen role.
Nélisse said she wasn’t shocked by this reveal: “Every season has felt almost like a complete different character to me,” she shared with BI. “Part of me wants her to go even crazier, but I'm like, she needs to calm down,” she added.
Following Van’s death, Taissa eats part of her body during a ritual. It's not just shocking—it’s symbolic. She’s gone full dark side. Meanwhile, Shauna begins to unravel emotionally and psychologically, especially after discovering a letter that forces her to remember who she really was.
With Jeff and Callie on the run, Shauna is isolated—and Misty and Taissa now believe she’s the real threat. The season ends with the two forming an ominous alliance to stop her, setting up a deadly internal conflict for season four.
The biggest present-day shocker? Callie kills Lottie. After Lottie corners her at her father’s building, believing she’s Shauna’s dead baby reincarnated, she spouts cryptic visions about Callie being the Wilderness’s chosen leader. Callie, terrified, pushes Lottie down the stairs. Misty uncovers the truth and helps Callie cover it up.
This scene, laced with eerie mysticism, leaves the audience wondering—was Lottie delusional, or was there something real behind her beliefs?
One surreal moment involves Travis, possibly hallucinating, suggesting Jackie’s spirit shared memories with him—slumber party makeouts, betrayal, and secrets. It’s a strange, emotional twist that hints at a deeper relationship between Jackie and Shauna.
Nélisse said that she didn't take it that way but loved the theory. “There's not an answer, actually, for that one. A lot of people have been hinting that there was sexuality between Jackie and Shauna," Nélisse said. "But the creators seemed, from our discussion, to say that there wasn't, but that there is just this really complex relationship. It's such a fine line to walk on. I think it's up to people's interpretation,” she added. (via BI)
The finale also raises new mysteries: Where are Akilah, Gen, and Hannah in the present? Did Akilah die after challenging Lottie? Is Hannah safe? Melissa, meanwhile, becomes a wildcard. After killing Van, her motivations remain unclear, but her future role could be explosive.
And then there’s Walter—still obsessed with Misty. What’s his real plan?
Season three ends not with closure, but transformation. The girls are no longer just survivors—they’re queens, killers, and leaders, each shaped by a past they can’t escape. With Pit Girl revealed, the Antler Queen crowned, and a rescue on the horizon, Yellowjacket's season four promises a terrifying return to civilization—and a reckoning decades in the making.
