The group named WikiLeaksV2 claimed on their dark web leak site that they breached the Parish Attorney’s Office of East Baton Rouge.Â
Based on the information posted on the threat intelligence platform StealthMole, WikiLeaksV2 stole about 233GB of data from the government organization.Â
The government organization in LA, Louisiana, takes care of directing and supervising the legal affairs of the city of Baton Rouge.Â
The dark web post made rants about the security mechanism employed by the Parish Attorney’s Office since they managed to breach it.Â
The hackers disclosed having accessed the newly released archive with sensitive details from the prosecutor’s office.
The stolen data registered for over a decade includes a collection of 55,000 files worth 233GB of data with detailed records of criminal cases from the time of reporting to placing the verdict.Â

The group WikiLeaksV2 has been modelled around the WikiLeaks organization headed by Julian Assange, the Australian activist and editor.
It was started on February 16, 2024, and is aimed at ‘information disclosure’ pertaining to the global economy, international politics, war, and intelligence among other social issues.
The group members are followers of Assange and post about public service organizations and what they term corrupt on their social media channels and via email.
The group has been extracting files posted by the Qilin ransomware group on their leak site among others.
