When is Wicked Part 2 Coming out?

Wicked the movie is all the rage right now and people want more. Everyone just wants to know when is Wicked Part 2 coming out. The Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo starrer is breaking box office records for musicals right now. The audience and critical reception of the film have been stellar as well. So, when is the second part releasing?
Wicked part 2 Release date
Wicked: Part 2 will arrive in theaters on Friday, Nov. 21, 2025. This is almost exactly a year after the first film's release.
Why was Wicked Split into two Films?
Wicked is based on the Tony-winning Broadway musical, which in turn is based on the 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire that reimagines The Wizard of Oz characters. Director Jon M. Chu explained back in April 2022 in a tweet why he split the film into two.
He said that it was impossible to pack everything into one film without compromising on the source material. The director wrote, “As we prepared this production over the last year, it became increasingly clear that it would be impossible to wrestle the story of Wicked into a single film without doing some real damage to it.”
He further explained, “As we tried to cut songs or trim characters, those decisions began to feel like fatal compromises to the source material that has entertained us all for so many years. So we decided to give ourselves a bigger canvas and make not just one Wicked movie, but TWO!!!!”
