What’s Coming to BritBox in October 2024

BBC Studios has revealed the lineup for BritBox in October 2024, which will showcase a range of content, from new BritBox Originals to timeless British classics.

The October lineup consists of the final season of the anthology series Inside No. 9, Passenger featuring BAFTA award-winning actress Wunmi Mosaku, the second installment of Suspect starring BAFTA-winner Anne-Marie Duff, seasons 1-5 of Paul Abbott’s Shameless, seasons three and four of the BAFTA-winning series Race Across the World, and so much more.

BritBox is a digital video subscription service that provides the most extensive collection of British TV in the US and Canada. Here's a look at everything coming to BritBox in October 2024.

Season 1 Release date: Oct. 1
Number of episodes: 7

Season 2 Release date: Oct. 8
Number of episodes: 11

Frank is about to have his seventh child, but there's a surprise waiting for him. Additionally, due to a fraudulent insurance claim, the Gallagher family has expanded to the house next door. They are now one big, albeit large, happy family!

Season 3 Release date: Oct. 15
Number of episodes: 8

Debbie's plan spirals out of control, Mandy has Lip's baby, Kev experiences a heartbreaking loss, and Frank and Sheila's wedding day arrives. The big question is, will Frank go through with it?

Season 4 Release date: Oct. 20
Number of episodes: 8

Lip is balancing parenting responsibilities while Ian is searching for love. Debbie is interviewing potential boyfriends. And there's a connection between Kev, Veronica, Marty, Sue, and a Romanian baby.

Frank receives some upsetting news, Lip comes back home from university, Ian almost finds love, Carl continues his sexual adventures, and the reserved outsider Debbie surprises everyone by falling in love.

Suspect Season 2

In Suspect season two, Dr. Susannah Newman is determined to uncover the truth about her daughter's tragic death. When a new client named Jon confesses something disturbing while under hypnosis, Susannah is compelled to take on a dangerous mission to save a life, just as she wished she could have done for her own daughter.

The Inheritance Season 1

The Inheritance is about Daniel, Sian, and Chloe, who are part of a seemingly close and loving family. Their father, Dennis, passed away suddenly, and they were shocked to find out that they did not receive the inheritance they were expecting from his will.

Race Across the World

Season 3 Release date: Oct. 11

The third installment is a challenging one, featuring five pairs of adventurous travelers racing across an entire continent from the Pacific in Vancouver to the Atlantic in St John’s, covering over 16,000 kilometers across six time zones at ground level.

Season 4 Release date: Oct. 18
Number of episodes: 9

In season four, they will travel from Japan to Lombok, an Indonesian island, crossing six seas and eight borders. The journey will take them through the volcanic ring of fire, one of the most geologically unstable areas on Earth. Throughout the race, the five teams will be challenged physically and emotionally as they leave behind modern amenities like smartphones, internet access, and bank cards.

Prison was filmed over seven months inside HMP Durham, giving viewers rare access to life behind bars in an English prison. The series tells the human story on both sides of the door, featuring the experiences of both staff and prisoners and the real issues they face.

Passenger Season 1

Number of episodes: 6

Passenger is about a former Met Police Detective who investigates odd crimes that have been haunting the small town of Chadder Vale. It is a tight-knit community where nothing seems to pierce the ordinary. D.I. Riya Ajunwa is tired of spending her days investigating small-time crimes and her nights tending to her odd mother-in-law.

Number of episodes: 8, 8, and 6, respectively

Lucy, Tim's sister, has taken over paying the rent for the flat now that Kate has moved back to America. However, Lucy can only buy the flat if Lee can continue living there. This sets up a situation where it's uncertain whether Lee and Lucy will end up together. But there's an obstacle in Lee's way - Lucy's older boyfriend, Guy.

Murder in the Village: Who Killed the Doctor’s Wife? looks into a mysterious, unsolved crime in a small town in Essex, England. Dr. Robert Jones was a well-liked local doctor, and he and his wife Diane lived in a beautiful 16th-century farmhouse. In July 1983, Diane went missing, and later, her body was found with evidence that she had been murdered. Despite a thorough police investigation, the person responsible was never identified.

Inside No. 9 Season 9

Inside No. 9 season nine concludes the anthology series, which has been captivating audiences since 2014. Six new stand-alone stories set in different locations each week bring a fresh style and tone.
