What’s Coming to BritBox in August 2024

BBC Studios has revealed the lineup for BritBox in August 2024, which will feature new BritBox Originals and classic British content. So without further ado, let’s take a look at what’s on offer.

If you enjoy watching titles based on royals, you’re in luck: you can watch White Princess and My King Charles, both new to the streaming platform. For fans of family dramedies, Romesh Ranganthan’s Avoidance season 2 is a must-watch.

You can also stream the North American premieres of The Change, Good Ship Murder, Granite Harbour season 2, and Dying For Revenge. BritBox will also offer two installments of Killing Eve starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer (seasons 3 and 4).

BritBox August 2024 Lineup

The Change Season 1

Release date: Thursday, Aug. 1
Number of episodes: 6

This BritBox Original is a comedy-drama about a working-class 50-year-old woman going through menopause. She has two kids and is going through an existential crisis. To deal with it, she leaves her family to go back to her rural roots in the Forest of Dean.

My King Charles

My King Charles documents the King’s journey from his early days in the royal palace, his adventurous and ‘playboy’ twenties, his first marriage that didn’t end well, his involvement in politics, to the efforts he made to resolve issues within the family, and the challenges he faces today as the King.

Good Ship Murder Season 1

Release date: Monday, Aug. 5
Number of episodes: 8

This show features a luxury cruise ship traveling through popular Mediterranean holiday destinations. You can expect to see a lot of drama, glitz and glamour, opulence, and social differences on board. However, not all is hunky-dory; the new cabaret singer soon discovers sinister activities happening behind the scenes.

Killing Eve

Season 4 Release date: Tuesday, Aug. 13
Number of episodes: 8

Killing Eve is an award-winning drama about how a British intelligence investigator, played by Sandra Oh, is assigned to catch a psychopathic assassin, played by Jodie Comer. However, as they continue on a journey of cat and mouse, they develop an unhealthy obsession with each other. 

Dying For Revenge Season 1

Release date: Thursday, Aug. 8

Each episode of this true crime show tells the horrific story of a crime that was committed to take revenge. The trigger events range from a disgruntled worker who was made fun of by a colleague to a woman who lost everything when her former partner sold their house. However, the final act is the same: murder. 

Granite Harbour Season 2

Release date: Thursday, Aug. 15
Number of episodes: 3

Set in Aberdeen, Granite Harbour Season 2 further delves into Lindo, Bart, and their team's investigations as they navigate the city's criminal underworld. They try to solve the murder of drug kingpin Grace McFadden's fixer while grappling with the emergence of a dangerous new drug blend.

Monty Don’s American Gardens Season 1

In order to answer burning questions like “What is an American garden?” and “What does it look like?,” Monty Don embarks on a journey across the continent. His first stop is at a prairie that is in full bloom, which is meant to be the original American flowering wilderness.

The White Princess

Starring Emmy and BAFTA winner Jodie Comer, this show documents one of the most turbulent times in British history. It is presented from the point of view of women who were fighting the battle to gain power.

Avoidance Season 2

Release date: Thursday, Aug. 22

The second installment begins a year after the conclusion of the first season when Jonathan rejects the chance to resume his romantic relationship with Claire, the mother of his young son Spencer. In season two, Jonathan evidently regrets his choice and considers ways to win Claire over as she moves on with her life. 

Informer Season 1

Release date: Thursday, Aug. 29
Number of episodes: 6

Informer is the story of Raza, a young second-generation Pakistani man from East London who is forced by Gabe, a counter-terrorism officer, to go undercover and act as a spy for him.
