Hulu Gets a Gazillion New Movies and Shows in January 2019

Christmas is getting near, and so is the New Year, so we have to look forward to 2019 too. One of the cool things adults are looking forward to is the list of movies and series that their favorite streaming service is getting in January.

That being said, we're quite curious to see what's next for Hulu - what we should look forward to and when we should expect these new entries in the Hulu library.

Without much ado, here's the full list of Hulu's new entries for January 2019.

January 1

• Atlanta - comedy, drama, music - The second season of Atlanta is coming to Hulu as soon as the new year comes, so gear up for some binging.
• The Detectorists - comedy - The third season of this comedy-filled series featuring two eccentric metal detectorists lands on Hulu on January 1st.
• Dot. - animation, family - Universal Kids' Dot. season 2B will finally be available on Hulu, so we're sure the little ones will be happy to watch.
• Saints & Sinners - drama - Hulu is bringing in the first three seasons that have already aired from the drama series Saints & Sinners which centers around a Southern Baptist church.
• X Company - drama, war - The second and third season of this series is coming to Hulu to put the focus on the world of the Second World War.
• 54 - drama, music - This 1998 movie featuring Ryan Phillippe, Salma Hayek and Neve Campbell focuses on the nightclub scene of New York City in the 1970s.
• 10 Years - comedy, drama, romance - Channing Tatum and ex-wife Jenna Dewan play alongside Chris Pratt and Rosario Dawson a group of friends who, ahead of a high school reunion, realize they still need to grow up.
• 2 Days in the Valley - comedy, crime, thriller - A spoof of regular crime thriller movies, this movie focuses on the lives of multiple characters and the crime life in Los Angeles.
• 9 to 5 - comedy - Jane Fonda, Dolly Parton, and Lily Tomlin play three employees of a sexist boss and find a way to change things up and turn the tables on him.
• A Charlie Brown Valentine - animation, comedy, family - Charlie Brown's story gets a Valentine twist, as the beloved characters try to catch one another's attention.
• A Simple Plan - crime, drama, thriller - Things don't always go as planned when money is involved and that's what three acquaintances find out when they find millions of dollars in lost cash.
• A Walk to Remember - drama, romance - This is the touching story of two teens who fall in love despite all obstacles, including when illness comes into play.
• Alvin & The Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein - animation, comedy, family - The three chipmunks have a new gig at a movie theme park and encounter a real monster. Or is he really all bad?
• Alvin & The Chipmunks Meet the Wolfman - animation, comedy, family - Alvin is convinced his neighbor has a big secret to hide after one of his nightmares gives him the creeps.
• Antz - animation, adventure, comedy - An ant rebels against the totalitarian society of the anthill while also falling in love for Princess Bala.
• Babe - comedy, drama, family - Everyone loves Babe, a cute pig raised by sheepdog who learns how to herd sheep himself.
• Bad Girls - romance, western - Four ladies of the night travel the Old West together while being chased by two detectives.
• Bangkok Dangerous - action, crime, thriller - Nicholas Cage plays a hitman who's in Bangkok for a series of jobs when he falls in love with a local.
• Basic Instinct - drama, mystery, thriller - One of the classic movies of the 90s features Michael Douglas as a police detective who investigates a murder that may or may not involve a seductive novelist played by Sharon Stone.
• Beetlejuice - comedy, fantasy - Say Beetlejuice three times in a row and you may summon a bizarre demon.
• Beowulf - animation, action, adventure - The story of Beowulf fighting against Grendel the monster hits Hulu
• Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey - adventure, comedy, fantasy - Evil android doubles of Bill and Ted are created in the future and sent back in history to eliminate the originals.
• Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure - adventure, comedy, music - Dumb teenagers and a time machine. Enough said.
• The Brady Bunch Movie - comedy - The Brady Bunch is a classic 70s TV family and they find out that life in the 90s is even stranger.
• Cake - comedy, romance - A wedding magazine has a new chief when a travel-writer, the daughter of the owner, takes over. The whole experience changes her life completely.
• Capitalism: A Love Story - documentary, crime, news - Michael Moore creates another documentary, taking a look at the impact of corporations chasing profits over the public good.
• Chicken Run - animation, adventure, comedy - Chickens try to escape their evil owners and everything takes a hilarious turn.
• Children of the Corn - horror, thriller - A dangerous religious cult of children believe adults need to be killed so things turn dangerous when a young couple gets trapped in their town.
• Chinatown - drama, mystery, thriller - This Roman Polanski 1974 movie features Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway.
• The Chaperone - action, comedy, family - An ex-con tries to run from his past and volunteers to chaperone a field trip to New Orleans. Things, of course, don't go as planned.
• The Colony - action, horror, sci-fi - A new ice age hits Earth and humans are forced to live underground as the last survivors fight to preserve humanity.
• Cujo - horror, thriller - Cujo used to be a friendly St. Bernard, but when he contracts rabies, a small American town gets terrorized.
• Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas - animation, family - The curious little monkey is at it again, trying to find the perfect gift for his human.
• The Dead Zone - horror, sci-fi, thriller - When he wakes up from a coma, a man finds out he has a psychic ability.
• Deja Vu - action, crime, sci-fi - On the chase for a bomber, an ATF agent leads a unique investigation.
• Destiny Turns on the Radio - crime, comedy, fantasy - Johnny Destiny stops to take on a stranded stranger in the desert as he heads to Vegas. The stranger is fresh out of prison.
• Dirty Pretty Things - crime, drama, thriller - Life in London isn't always glamorous, as an illegal immigrant discovers.
• Double Team - action, comedy, sci-fi - Van Damme and Dennis Rodman team up as an international spy and an arms dealer who seek to escape from a penal colony.
• East is East - comedy, drama - When a Pakistani father tries to maintain his authority over his family, he finds his children don't adhere to the same principles he grew up with.
• Extraction - action, adventure, crime - Terrorists kidnap a former CIA operative, so his father goes on to rescue him.
• Fifteen and Pregnant - drama - Kirsten Dunst plays a 15-year-old who ends up pregnant and in a difficult situation, but her family is there to back her up.
• Finding Neverland - biography, drama, family - This movie tells the story of J.M. Barrie and his friendship with the family that inspired the birth of Peter Pan.
• Firstborn - drama, thriller - When his mother's boyfriend tries to exert his authority in their home, a teenager must protect his family.
• Flight 7500 - horror, mystery, sci-fi - A plane departs from L.A. heading for Tokyo, but sometime over the Pacific Ocean they discover a supernatural force is on the plane too.
• Fly Me to the Moon - animation, adventure, family - Three houseflies end up on the Apollo 11 and fly to the moon.
• The Foot Fist Way - comedy - A tae known do instructor has marital issues and a bit of an obsession on a fellow fighter.
• The Forgotten - drama, horror, mystery - A couple is told that their children never existed, but the problem is much bigger than it appears at first sight.
• For a Few Dollars More - western - Is it really a western if Clint Eastwood isn't in it? Well, good thing that the legend plays in this one, a story about two bounty hunters trying to track an outlaw.
• Forces of Nature - comedy, romance - In case you all forgot, Ben Affleck and Sandra Bullock once played in the same movie - a man who's soon to be married, and a stranger who attracts him in inexplicable ways.
• Friday Night Lights - action, drama, sport - The movie is based on a book that profiles a town in Texas and the Permian High Panthers, a heroic high school football team.
• Gentlemen Prefer Blondes - comedy, musical, romance - One of the movies that perfectly showcases Marilyn Monroe.
• The German Doctor - drama, history, thriller - Josef Mengele lived with an Argentine family and no one knew his true identity. This is their story.
• Gimme Shelter - drama - A pregnant teenager escapes her home, running from her abusive mother, and goes searching for her father, hoping for some help. When faced with rejection from her stepmother, she's forced to survive on the streets.
• Girl in Progress - comedy, drama - The daughter of a single mom takes inspiration from coming-of-age stories taught in school.
• Girl in the Bunker - drama - A teenage girl gets abducted and forced to live in an underground bunker in a forest.
• Girls Just Want to Have Fun - comedy, music, romance - A classic fun movie from the 80s, telling the story of a girl who's new in town.
• Gods and Monsters - biography, drama - The movie tells the story of the last days of director James Whale are explored in this movie that features Ian McKellen and Brendan Fraser.
• The Golden Compass - adventure, family, fantasy - A young lady goes on a journey to the far North to save her fest friend and other kidnapped kids.
• Grizzly Man - documentary, biography - Another documentary tells the story of two grizzly bear activists who were killed while living among grizzlies in Alaska.
• Happy New Year, Charlie Brown - animation, comedy, family - Charlie Brown has to attend a New Year's Eve party, but he also has to finish reading War and Peace.
• He Got Game - drama, sport - The father of a basketball player has a tough goal - convincing his son to go to college to get a shorter sentence. The movie brings together Denzel Washington, Milla Jovovich, and Rosario Dawson.
• Heathers - comedy - Winona Ryder is a teenager who has a good-girl reputation, but she goes ahead and teams up with a sociopath to plot the murder of all the cool kids.
• Hellraiser - horror, thriller - Zombies, demonic cenobites, an unfaithful wife, and more.
• Hot Pursuit - comedy - A man is too late to ride on the plane with her family to the Caribbean and once he lands he's on a hot pursuit to find her.
• I Am Elizabeth Smart - biography, crime, drama - A teenager is abducted from her bedroom in Salt Lake City and the Police launch an investigation.
• I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown - animation, family - Snoopy's brother may be the answer to the Christmas wishes made by Rerun, Linus and Lucy's younger brother.
• In A World… - comedy - A voice coach goes against her father and his protege in a movie trailer voice-over contest.
• Inside Out - crime, drama - Once released from prison, a man tries to live a normal life, but his best friend keeps getting him in trouble.
• Into The West - adventure, family, fantasy - Two kids are given a horse by their grandpa, and when that horse is stolen, they go on an adventure to find it and take it back.
• Kickboxer - action, sport, thriller - Van Damme plays in one of the classic movies that made him a star back in the 80s and 90s, this time as a man who must learn an ancient boxing art to avenge his brother.
• Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas - comedy, family - A man tries to show his cynical brother in law that Jesus is still a part of Christmas, despite the over-commercialization of the holiday.
• Kiss of the Dragon - action, crime, drama - Jet Li plays a betrayed intelligence officer who asks for help from a prostitute to prove his innocence.
• The Last Boy Scout - action, comedy, crime - A private detective investigates a murder alongside the victim's boyfriend, unearthing a long list of crimes in the process.
• The Last Knights - action, adventure, drama - Morgan Freeman and Clive Owen play in a movie about a fallen warrior who fights against a corrupt ruler to avenge his master.
• Legendary - drama, sport - A teenager joins the wrestling team hoping to reunite his family members. The film features John Cena and Danny Glover, as well as Patricia Clarkson.
• Lethal Weapon - action, crime, thriller - Rewatch this classic featuring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as two newly paired cops who must take down a drug smuggling operation.
• Lethal Weapon 2 - action, crime, thriller - The team is now on the trail of South African diplomats who are engaging in criminal activities and using their immunity to stay safe from the law.
• Lethal Weapon 3 - action, crime, thriller - The two detectives are now on the case of a former LAPD officer who is stealing confiscated guns and selling them to local street gangs.
• Lethal Weapon 4 - action, crime, thriller - The two detectives aren't as young as they used to be, but they still have what it takes to take on the Chinese Triads.
• The Limey - crime, drama, mystery - An Englishman travels to Las Vegas to find the man he considers responsible for the death of his daughter.
• Love Actually - comedy, drama, romance - Eight different couples face various issues in their love lives ahead of Christmas in London.
• Maximum Security - action, drama - Known as Caged in Paradiso, the movie follows a group of women who are trying to escape after being falsely imprisoned in an island fortress.
• Message in a Bottle - drama, romance - A love letter found in a bottle on the beach makes a woman search for the author.
• Mimic - horror, sci-fi - Insects created to kill cockroaches carrying a nasty disease are now trying to destroy mankind.
• Mud - drama - Two kids meet a fugitive and try to help him evade the men on his trail in order to reunite him with the woman he loves.

• New York Minute - comedy, crime, family - One of the last movies Ashley Olsen has been in, New York Minute features the Olsen twins on an overseas adventure.
• No Holds Barred - action, sport - Hulk Hogan is Rip, a wrestling champ who a new network exec wants to convince to fight for him. When that first approach doesn't go as planned, he'll do anything to convince Rip.
• Nothing Like the Holidays - comedy, drama, romance - This might be the last Christmas together for a Puerto Rican family in Chicago.
• The Other Man - drama, mystery, thriller - A husband sets out to find the man he believes his wife is cheating with.
• The Others - horror, mystery, thriller - A woman who has two kids ill with a strange disease is convinced her home is haunted.
• Patch Adams - biography, comedy, drama - This is the story of a wonderful doctor who went above and beyond to make his patients happy.
• Payback - action, crime, drama - A man is shot and left for dead by his wife and his best friend, but when he recovers, he's after revenge.
• Penelope - comedy, fantasy, romance - A young heiress is born under a curse that can be broken by true love only.
• Pet Sematary - horror, thriller - With a remake of this movie to end on the big screens in 2019, Hulu seems to want to take us down memory lane watching this Stephen King-based movie.
• Pet Sematary II - horror, fantasy - A teenage boy and his mother move to a new town where they discover an ancient Native American cemetery that can raise the dead.
• The Phantom - action, adventure, comedy - The Phantom is a superhero and he travels to New York City to stop criminals from obtaining three magic skulls that would give them the secret to ultimate power.
• Pride - drama, family, sport - A new swim team is started by Jim Ellis and features only troubled teens.
• Prince of Egypt - animation, adventure, drama - An Egyptian prince take on his destiny to become the chosen deliverer of his people.

• Renoir - biography, drama, history - The son of Renoir returns home to mend his health after being wounded in WWI alongside Andrée, a young woman who serves as muse.

• Ron White: A Little Unprofessional - comedy - A comedy special featuring Ron White, the famous comedian who really likes to drink and tell dirty jokes.

• Stephen King’s Thinner - horror, fantasy - A gypsy curses an obese attorney to lose weight very fast. The movie is based on a Stephen King novel.
• Stone - drama, thriller - A convicted arsonist is up for parole and hopes that his wife will be able to seduce the parole officer in order to have him sway in his favor.
• Surf’s Up - animation, comedy, family - The annual Penguin World Surfing Championship is on and the participants will have you laughing, especially Cody Maverick, the new star of the competition.
• Surf’s Up 2: WaveMania - animation, comedy, family - WWE Superstars are lending their voices to this animated comedy.
• Tangerines - drama, war - During the war in Georgia in 1990, an Estonian man stays behind to harvest his crops of tangerine, but as a wounded man is left behind, the man takes him in.
• Teaching Mrs. Tingle - comedy, thriller - A girl will do anything to become Valedictorian, even kill the teacher who opposes her.
• The Two Jakes - crime, drama, mystery - J.J. "Jake" Gittes is back, investigating adultery and murder, as well as money coming from the oil industry.
• The Virgin Suicides - drama, romance - Five sisters are hidden by their religious parents in Detroit. And yet, they manage to fascinate a group of boys.

• To Grandmother’s House We Go - adventure, family, comedy - The Olsen twins play sisters who feel their mom is tired of them so they take on an adventure to reach their grandmother's house.
• Total Recall -  action, sci-fi, thriller - A man hopes to find out more about the recurring dream he has and visits a clinic that sells implanted memories. During the process, he remembers being a secret agent.
• True Grit - adventure, drama, western - A US Marshal and a Texas Ranger help a teenager track her father's murderer.
• Twilight - drama, fantasy, romance - Bella moves to Forks and falls in love for Edward Cullen, a boy that turns out to be a vampire of sorts.
• The Twilight Saga: New Moon - adventure, drama, fantasy - After an incident on Bella's birthday, Edward decides it's best his whole family of vampires leaves the area before she is killed. Bella ends up spending time with werewolf Jacob.
• The Twilight Saga: Eclipse - adventure, drama, fantasy - As vampires come to take revenge on Bella, she is forced to spend time with either the Cullens or Jacob, while also choosing between her love and her friendship.
• The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 - adventure, drama, fantasy - Bella and Edward finally get married and she somehow ends up pregnant during their honeymoon. The only way she can live is if she also turns vampire.
• The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 - adventure, drama, fantasy - After Renesmee is born the Cullens have to gather friendly vampires when the Volturi come to kill them all.
• We are Marshall - drama, sport - After members of the Marshall University football team die in a plane crash, the new coach and the surviving players try to keep the football program alive.
• What’s Cooking? - comedy, drama, romance - Thanksgiving in four LA households gets interesting due to tensions in the families.
• Yours, Mine & Ours - comedy, family, fantasy - Two widows get married, much to the dismay of their children. She has ten of them, and he has eight.
• Zathura: A Space Adventure - action, adventure, comedy - The house of two young brothers ends up in space by the magical board game they are playing.

January 2

• The Gifted - action, drama, fantasy - The second season mid-season premiere hits Hulu on the second day of January. So many twos.
• Lethal Weapon - action, crime, drama - The mid-season premiere for the third season of Lethal Weapon is up on Hulu.
• Drinking Buddies - comedy, drama, romance - Two coworkers take their significant others on a trip and figure out the couples are all wrong.

January 3

• 24 Hours to Hell & Back - reality TV - Gordon Ramsey's back at helping troubled restaurants in the second season of the show.
• The Masked Singer - TV series - A new show premieres on Hulu where 12 celebrity performers wear costumes to conceal their identities.
• The X-Files - drama, mystery, sci-fi - The 11th season of the X-Files is now up so you can binge.
• Support the Girls - comedy - The general manager of a sports bar has a difficult day.
• The Unicorn - comedy - A couple has been engaged for four years and they finally take a big step, but not the one you think they will.

January 4

• Gotham - action, crime, drama - The fifth season of Gotham premieres on Hulu.
• The Titan Games - reality TV - Dwayne Johnson presents and stars in a new athletic competition that premieres on Netflix.
• Sherlock Gnomes - animation, adventure, comedy - Two garden gnomes recruit a detective to investigate the disappearance of other garden ornaments.

January 5

• Fresh off the Boat - comedy - This is the mid-season premiere for the fifth season of this show featuring a Taiwanese family that moved to America.
• Speechless - comedy - The mid-season premiere for Speechless hits Hulu.
• Annihilation - adventure, drama, horror - When a mysterious zone where the laws of nature don't apply appears on Earth, a biologist goes on a secret expedition.
• The Overnight - comedy, mystery - Two families get together and things get interesting.

January 6

• Disaster Movie - comedy - A group of young people tries to have a nice evening out, but disaster hits

January 7

• America Funniest Home Videos - comedy, family, reality-TV - Is there anyone on this planet that hasn't seen this show? Well, the mid-season premiere for the 29th Season is up on Hulu.
• Lodge 49 - comedy, drama - Lodge 49 is an old fraternal order that offers strange philosophies and cheap beer.
• Shark Tank - family, reality TV - Business sharks listen to the ideas of ambitious entrepreneurs. This is the mid-season premiere for the 10th Season.

January 8

• America’s Got Talent: The Champions - TV series - A new show kicks on January 18, a spin-off to the original show.
• The Bachelor - game-show, reality TV - The show is back for the 23rd season.
• Manifest - drama, mystery - This is the mid-season premiere for the first season of the Manifest.
• Alright Now - drama -  A rock musician goes back to college after her band falls apart.
• The Commuter - action, crime, drama - An ex-cop that's now an insurance salesman is caught in a criminal conspiracy while commuting home.
• The Last Airbender - action, adventure, family - The famous animation gets turned into a movie, following the story of Aang.

January 9

• Black-ish - comedy - The mid-season premiere for the fifth season of Black-ish lands on Hulu.
• The Conners - comedy - The follow-up for Roseanne has its mid-season premiere.

• Chicago Fire - action, drama - This firefighter show has its seventh season premiere.

• Match Game - comedy, game show - A game of fill-in-the-blank with regular folks and contestants.
