Resident Alien season 4 is about to raise the bar higher for the sci-fi alien show based on the Dark Horse comics of the same name. The show follows an alien called Harry, who crash-landed on Earth. In season 3, he wanted to work with General McCallister to rid the planet of the Grey aliens. 

However, that proved to be difficult when he found out that the Grey hybrid Joseph had got a job in town as the new deputy. Harry also struggled with his personal life as he experienced love for the first time. Release date and Where to Watch

Resident Alien season 4 is expected to have a late summer to early fall 2025 release. The show has moved from Syfy to USA Network to increase its viewership. The show is available to watch on Peacock and Netflix. Showrunner Chris Sheridan confirmed on social media that season 4 will have ten episodes.

What is Resident Alien Season 4 About?

Resident Alien season 4 is expected to focus more on the extraterrestrial elements including intergalactic conflicts and human abductions. At WonderCon 2024, series creator Chris Sheridan said, “I love that we're embracing more of the alien stuff. There's really, you have all the alien stuff with Harry. But these new US alien abductions that Ben and Kate have gone through, that really doesn't have a lot to do with [Harry].”

He also said that the alien universe will be expanded more. As per Sheridan, “I want to expand the Alien Universe a little bit and ground it as much as possible. I think that's one of the keys to the show working, which is you have this big, broad alien stuff, but it also feels real in its own way.” (via The Direct)

Also, season 4 will address the cliffhangers that were left in the finale of season 3 like Harry Vanderspeigle getting captured by the Greys while Mantid assumed Harry’s identity to blend into the population of Patience, Colorado. Since Mantid once devoured the cellmate he was put with, so now he will have a whole buffet to choose from on Earth. As such, Tudyk will play two roles- Harry and his darker counterpart. 

Additionally, Mantid’s ability to transform into anyone means that there’s going to be a mystery and guessing element that will bring unexpected twists. Creator Sheridan added in an interview with TV Line that, “It’s gonna be a little bit of mayhem in Patience going into Season 4, but it’s been a while since Sheriff Mike and Deputy Liv have had to solve a murder, so maybe it’s the right timing.”

Filming and Production Details

Resident Alien films in Vancouver, Canada, and the surrounding areas. Production is underway and it’s estimated to wrap by the end of March 2025.

Resident Alien was adapted for television by executive producer Chris Sheridan. He has served as the showrunner since the beginning and will stay for the upcoming fourth season. The executive producers are Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg of Dark Horse Entertainment, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank of Amblin TV, and Nastaran Dibai. The show is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group with Amblin TV and Dark Horse Entertainment.
