Fire Country has officially been renewed for a fourth season, with the announcement coming in February 2025. While the premiere date hasn't been confirmed yet, it is expected to air in late September or early October 2025, aligning with CBS's typical fall TV schedule. Fans can likely expect new episodes to air on Fridays, given the show's success on that night in previous seasons.
Fire Country season four is set to delve deeper into the emotional aftermath of the catastrophic events from the season three finale, particularly the impact on Bode, who is left uncertain about the fate of his parents and grandfather. The fourth season will explore how the characters cope with grief and loss, especially in the wake of the devastating fire at Zebel Ridge.
Alongside this, the show might also tackle broader environmental and social issues, especially in the aftermath of the hazardous waste dumping uncovered by Manny and Sharon. This storyline could highlight the ongoing danger posed by companies like Oxalta, while the team at Three Rock Fire Camp works to rebuild and recover.
Max Thieriot, who plays Bode, hinted at the future direction of the show during an interview with USA Today, emphasizing the commitment to telling “authentic stories and personal stories, stuff that's relatable and human." He added, "We don’t change stuff to make it seem less realistic.”
Reflecting on the season three finale cliffhanger, Thieriot described it as a "game changer" that would leave a lasting impact. He further noted that Bode's journey in season three sets him at a "big turning point" in both his personal life and career, positioning him at a “real crossroads for sure.” (via TV Insider)
As Fire Country gears up for season four, fans can expect some major changes, as two key cast members will not be returning as series regulars. Stephanie Arcila, who portrayed Gabriela Perez, and Billy Burke, who played Vince Leone, will be exiting after season three. However, Arcila can make occasional guest appearances in future episodes, leaving the door open for her character's return.
According to executive producer Tia Napolitano, “the door’s definitely not closed” on Burke's character, but his exit ties into the shocking cliffhanger at the end of season three (via TV Insider).
Executive producer Joan Rater explained the decision to part ways with the two fan favorites, saying, “It really just comes down to what’s the best creatively. There’s a lot of stuff going on that we as producers juggle, but honestly, we are writers first and foremost and storytellers.”
Co-creator Tony Phelan added, “Also, going into Season 4, you don’t want the audience to ever feel complacent, to feel like they know exactly what they’re gonna get,” (via Collider). With these departures, new creative opportunities open up, and the writers plan to explore different directions.
“The writers' room starts in a week and a half, so I think we will play with time,” Napolitano teased. While the team hasn’t confirmed if new cast members will join in season four, they promise that the focus will be on deepening the stories of the existing characters.
"There’s a lot of loss in the finale: the loss of Three Rock and what’s happening to our cast, that putting the pieces back together is really what the beginning of Season 4 is going to be about," Phelan explained.
While these departures shake up the dynamics, the show’s core characters, including Manny, Eve, Sharon, and potentially Audrey, are expected to remain at the forefront in season four. As seen in the season three finale, Manny was offered Jake's position, while Audrey turned herself in after shooting Gabby’s stalker, Finn.
Fire Country continues to evolve, with returning stars like Max Thieriot (Bode Donovan) and Kevin Alejandro (Manny) remaining central to the story.
It's still too early, but we'll update it here as soon as we have more information.
Max Thieriot told TV Insider in April that the cliffhanger at the end of the season three finale is a “game-changer. I think it’s shocking. It’s going to make an impact for sure.” He was right.
The finale saw a fire ravage Walter’s (Jeff Fahey) care facility, leading Bode (Thieriot), Vince, and Sharon (Diane Farr) to join Walter in searching for his friend. After rescuing the friend, Walter went back inside, with Vince and Sharon following. As they made their way out, the building began collapsing, and they were last seen with it coming down on top of them.
Meanwhile, Gabriela’s stalker Finn (Blake Lee) found her and Audrey, and during their struggle, he was shot. Gabriela initially took the blame for the shooting, but it was Audrey who actually fired the shot and later turned herself in when the sheriffs arrived at the care facility.
A spinoff starring Christopher Gorham (Travis) and Michele Weaver (Cassidy) as Edgewater’s newest residents is set to air in the 2025-2026 season. The series follows the no-nonsense sheriff as she investigates criminal activity while patrolling the streets of small-town Edgewater. Along the way, she faces challenges with her previously incarcerated father and a mysterious incident involving her troubled daughter.
