Throughout, the Watcher’s journey becomes more personal, as he reflects on his own connection to the characters he observes. Season three promises to be even wackier with wild scenarios like Sam Wilson’s Power Rangers-style mech team, Photon’s Asgardian adventure with Okoye, and even a space hijack by Howard the Duck and Darcy Lewis.

Episode Guide

Will What If end with Season 3?

Yes, What If...? will end with its third season, wrapping up Marvel’s first animated series that explored alternate MCU timelines.

According to Marvel Studios Head of Streaming and Animation, Brad Winderbaum, season three is designed as the perfect conclusion, offering high-stakes storytelling and satisfying character arcs. It aims to provide closure for the characters and plots introduced in the first two seasons, bringing Marvel's unique multiverse exploration to a thoughtful end.

This decision also reflects Marvel's evolving strategy for its animated series. With What If...? concluding, Marvel is set to explore fresh animated projects, like Marvel Zombies, expected in 2025. This approach allows Marvel Studios to continue experimenting with diverse storylines beyond what live-action can offer while still connecting to the broader multiverse.
