UFC events are happening again, and UFC 249 is the first one to return to screens after the break mandated by the Coronavirus outbreak. We're going to watch UFC 249 online, so join us in figuring out how you can do this as well.
The event was supposed to take place on April 18th in New York, but following restrictions imposed by the state's governor regarding mass gatherings and sporting events, UFC 249 was canceled. Dana White, the UFC boss, has been pushing for matches to take place for a while now, but got a lot of pushback from the ESPN managers, as it wasn't considered to be something safe to do.
Now, following the decision the Florida governor made to allow sporting events behind closed doors, UFC 249 will take place in Jacksonville. Two others will follow the May 9th event - on May 13th and 16th, in the same city.
Here are the night's fight cards:
UFC 249 will take place on May 9th at 10 PM/ET. The event will be streamed on ESPN+.
We already spend hours upon hours online, keeping up with friends and family, and the news. Nowadays, we get little sports events due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the social distancing restrictions that prevent dozens of people gathering in the same place. Health and safety come before entertainment, of course! Now, as they decided to hold the event without a crowd, we can also enjoy UFC.
Since ESPN+ streams this event, you can take advantage of a few deals. If you get the UFC 249 with the ESPN+ annual plan, you'll pay $84.98 for this bundle - and since a separate yearly subscription for ESPN+ costs $49.99, you'll be getting UFC 249 at a good price. When you subscribe to ESPN+ for the full year, you waiver the 7-day free trial. If you're already an ESPN+ subscriber, you can also add UFC 249 for $59.99.
