Everyone's heard of High School Musical after making history all those years ago and creating stars such as Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, and more. Now, Disney has made it into a TV show that's got everyone buzzing. We plan to watch the whole thing, so let's see how you can do that too.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is a pretty long name, but it's what the creators of the show have settled on. It's a mockumentary web TV series created by Tim Federle that's based on the High School Musical film series.
The base of the show is the same as we've seen in the past - a group of teenage theater enthusiasts participates in a musical school production. There's going to be teen love, intrigue, drama, dancing, and a lot of singing. Just enough to keep you entertained!
The new musical series premiered on Disney+ when the platform did, namely on November 12th. The first season will consist of 10 episodes, and we're going to see one per week as per Disney's release schedule. Disney is expecting the show to get such great feedback, that they've already ordered a second season.
This particular show was created specifically for Disney+, even though the first episode aired on the Disney Channel, ABC, and Freeform on November 8th, ahead of the Disney+ launch as a test run. This means that if you want to watch High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, you're going to need to get a Disney+ subscription. This is pretty easy to do and you only have to choose between paying monthly ($6.99) or yearly ($69.99). If you live in the United States, you also get the option of picking the bundle that includes Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ for $12.99 per month. Start your 7-day free trial on Disney+ today! You should know that currently, Disney+ works in the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands, with Australia and New Zealand following next.
Disney+ works on a wide range of devices, including Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, iOS and Android phones and tablets, Chromecast, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. There's also the possibility to watch through your browser. (Note: Not all Disney+ content is available in all markets, so you'll have to check your own platform to see whether or not the shows are available where you live.)
Here's how you can set up your Disney+ account:
Unfortunately, there's no way to do this. This is a Disney+ show that you can only find on the platform, so you'll need to set up an account if you want to watch. At this point, the series is not available to purchase like other shows are, so you'll have to wait and see if that changes anytime soon.
