Vivo has launched the new smartphone V5s at an event in Gurugram. The new V5s pre-orders will start on Thursday and the first sale is scheduled for May 6. The handset has been introduced at a price of Rs.18,990 ($296), available in two colors — Crown Gold and Matte Black.
The Vivo V5s sport a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and is powered by an Octa-Core 64bit processor with Mali T860 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, which can be further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is wrapped under Funtouch OS 3.0 and is backed up by a 3000mAh battery.
The Vivo V5 packs a 20-megapixel front camera with soft light flash coupled with PDAF and a f/2.2 aperture., the handset features 13-megapixel rear camera complete with Sony IMX376 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. The popular "Moonlight Glow" feature for perfect selfies, provoking a natural glow on the face of the subject.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, OTG support, micro USB port, FM Radio and Hi-Fi audio system with an AK4376 audio chip support. The handset measures 153.8 x 75.5 x 7.55mm and weighs 154 grams.
