Researchers from Daily Dark Web, a threat intelligence platform shared screenshots of the X data leak. The sample included the following user data type:

  1. Screen name of users.
  2. Number of followers they have.
  3. Date of account creation.
  4. Time of their account creation.

It is not clear if the information is from a recent cyber attack or from a previous incident the company likely suffered.

In a previous incident, Hudson Rock, an infostealer data intelligence company tweeted about information stolen from X. The data from this breach was made available to dark web users for free, likely because the social media giant did not respond to their ransom demands.

Similar to the recent X data leak, this incident that was reported in 2023 involved samples with the name, username, followers, and date of account creation among other details. The post also reflected email addresses of twitter users in plain text.
