The US Open is nearly here as we're slowly getting back into tennis this year. We're planning on watching the US Open online, so let's see how we can do that.

This year, we have the 140th edition of the US Open, and unfortunately, the celebration is shaded by the COVID-19 pandemic. Numerous players have announced they won't be joining the tournament, including Rafael Nadal and Bianca Andreescu, last year's winners. Other players that have announced they won't be joining are Roger Federer, Simona Halep, Svetlana Kuznetsova, and Jelena Ostapenko, but the list is rather wrong.

Novak Djokovic, Dominic Thiem, and Daniil Medvedev remain the top contenders in the Men's Singles section, while Karolina Pliskova, Sofia Kenin, and Serena Williams in the Women's Singles.

This year, the total prize money is over $53.4 million, with a good chunk going to the winners. The Men and Women's Singles get $3 million each, with the runner-Ups getting $1.5 million.

This year, due to the pandemic, there will be no spectators present. Flushing Meadows will be empty and this will certainly impact the way viewers enjoy the event, as well as how the players concentrate on their game.

How Can I Live Stream the US Open 2020?

Watching the US Open online is not going to be too difficult, because the event is broadcast by several ESPN channels and Tennis Channel. We think that one of your best options is to go for fuboTV.

The service comes with a ton of sports channels, including ESPN and Tennis Channel. While ESPN is part of the main bundle, but Tennis Channel is part of the fubo Extra pack which goes for an additional $5.99, but also of the Sports Plus pack that costs $10.99 per month. There are other channel packs you can add, as well as premium networks. Add-ons can increase your number of simultaneous streams or the storage capacity for any recordings.

fuboTV works on loads of devices, from smartphones and tablets running on iOS and Android, Apple TV, Android TV, and more.

While we do recommend fuboTV because it has so many sports networks, there are other platforms that feature both channels.

Sling TV is another good option. There are three bundles here and you can pick between two of these - Orange and Orange + Blue since both have ESPN. Before you make your choice you should know that Orange subscribers can watch content on one device at a time, but Orange + Blue offers four simultaneous streams. Tennis Channel is stashed away in the Sports Extra pack that costs $10 per month extra. There are other channel packs available, as well as premium networks you can add. YouTube TV - There's also YouTube TV, which comes with a single bundle of networks. There are both channels available here - ESPN and Tennis Channel. No extra channel packs here, but you can add several cool premium networks to your account.

How to Watch 2020 US Open from Anywhere?

If you're traveling abroad anytime during the US Open and want to continue watching the event, you can do that with the help of a VPN. Since live TV platforms are geoblocked, you will need a VPN to make it work.

These tools can help change your IP address after routing your Internet connection through their own servers. They also encrypt the connection so your data is secure.

Our recommendation is ExpressVPN, which is the best we tested. It has servers all over the world, dozens of them right in the United States. You simply have to subscribe to ExpressVPN (49% OFF), get the apps, and find a server in the United States to connect to. Once that's done, you can just launch fuboTV and tune in to watch the US Open.
