Twitter announced that starting today, the Blue subscription features like undo tweets, ad-free news, and a bookmark folder are available in the US and New Zealand, on iOS, Android, and web. These benefits are also available for users in Canada and Australia, who are already enjoying them since June. However, the news content free of ads is not available on Android right now, and no information was given on when that would change.
The best part of this new wave of functionalities seems to be the ability to read news and articles without seeing any ads. However, only the 300+ US-based sites that are participating in the program will benefit from this, and these publications are also receiving some revenue from the Twitter Blue subscriptions fee for being featured in the "Ad-free with Twitter Blue" program.Â
In the initial launch, a "reader mode" for viewing tweet threads, theming your Twitter app and app icon, and special access to testing Twitter features early (like pinned conversations on iOS and longer video uploads on desktop only) were announced.
In July, Twitter offered a limited number of iOS users a downvote option as a feedback experiment and starting with October, users are able to remove one or more followers without blocking them at the same time.Â
