Plot

In The Rig season two, the surviving Kinloch Bravo crew are transported to a secret facility called the Stac, located in the Arctic Circle’s dangerous glacial landscapes. Here, they face emotional and physical aftermaths of the devastating tsunami that destroyed their former rig, alongside new dangers. 

The crew contends with corporate conspiracies, personal conflicts, and mysterious threats emerging from deep ocean waters. This season ventures into global themes, the Arctic’s extreme environment, and explores high-stakes ocean technology, including the contentious realm of deep-sea mining.

The Rig, an Amazon UK drama series, is produced by Banijay UK-backed Wild Mercury Productions. Created by David Macpherson, it features writing contributions from Macpherson and Meg Salter and is directed by John Strickland (Line of Duty, Bodyguard) and Alex Holmes (The Letter for the King). Derek Wax, Macpherson, and Strickland serve as executive producers, while Suzanne Reid is the series producer and Matt Brown the co-producer.
