The recently announced 9.7 inch Apple iPad is now in stocks. Just a few days back, Apple announced their brand new 6th gen iPad at an education initiative in Chicago, and now its available for purchase at Apple retail locations and Best Buy stores.
The education-oriented tablet comes with an affordable $329 pricing for the base WiFi-only model and supports Apple pencil. Primarily engineered to help students and teachers, the iPad also boasts a modest discount for students at $299.
However, despite its affordable pricing, the non-pro version of the iPad, is by no means lacking. At a purely aesthetic level, it comes with a sturdy aluminum unibody build. The screen quality is also impressive with support for Retina Ready display. To back up its performance, the iPad is powered by the A10 Fusion chipset with a 64-bit desktop class architecture. This is the same processor we find in the Apple iPhone 7 models, which should be a good benchmark to judge the performance of the device. Â Compared to its previous model, Apple promises 40% faster CPU performance and 50% faster GPU performance.
The camera department also got minor improvements, and with this new model, you will have an HD FaceTime camera which supports better low light pictures. The cameras also can take HD video recording.
However, the main focus of the new iPad has been on its Pencil support. The fact that it is being targeted to students as a tool to enhance their creativity, it is fitted with multiple advanced sensors to take full advantage of the Apple Pencil. The palm rejection technology also works seamlessly.
Finally, the iPad is going to be available in three color variants: silver, space gray, and a new gold color. For those of you who are interested, we advise taking a look at Best Buy websites to make sure they have an iPad in stores for you.
