Plot

In The Grand Tour: One For The Road, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May embark on their final adventure, defying Mr. Wilman's orders to drive electric vehicles and instead heading to Zimbabwe in three beloved classics: a 1982 Lancia Montecarlo, a 1974 Ford Capri 3-liter, and a 1974 Triumph Stag. Their journey unfolds through breathtaking landscapes featuring lush mountains, arid plains, and vibrant boulevards, all while encountering wildlife like elephants and giraffes.

As they attempt to enjoy a leisurely trip between luxurious hotels, they face typical road trip challenges, including a poorly chosen backup car provided by a disgruntled Mr. Wilman, treacherous terrain, mechanical issues, and the perils of map reading. Their patience is further tested by the possibility of mishaps involving Jeremy’s Lancia’s complex retractable roof and a run-in with stern customs officers after they enhance their cars with inexpensive locally sourced silver.

Upon reaching the stunning Victoria Falls, the trio cleverly navigates around rough local roads by detouring down a railway line. This leads them back into familiar territory as they cross into Botswana, where they reconnect with old friends and revisit a cherished location from their extensive travels. Here, they share an emotional farewell to their years together on The Grand Tour.
