What is the plot of The Gorge?

Two elite snipers, Levi and Drasa, are stationed in watchtowers on opposite sides of a massive, highly classified gorge. Their mission is to guard against an unknown, looming threat lurking within. Despite the distance, they form an unexpected bond while staying vigilant against an unseen enemy.

As the true nature of the threat is revealed, Levi and Drasa must push their physical and mental limits to survive. With time running out, they’re forced to rely on each other in ways they never anticipated, turning their mission into a fight for not just survival—but something far deeper.

Blending romance, action, sci-fi, and thriller elements, The Gorge promises a high-stakes cinematic experience. The director aims to craft a film that balances emotional depth with relentless tension, as two warriors navigate both love and an unforgiving battlefield. With Apple and Skydance backing the project, expectations are sky-high for this genre-defying spectacle.

Who’s in the cast of The Gorge?

Miles describes the film as a unique love story between two snipers who connect through their scopes. "Because they are both snipers, they start to fall in love with each other through their sniper scope, and I thought that was a really interesting premise. Their love story was everything." (via whattowatch)

He adds that their relationship unfolds under intense pressure: "It’s a love story under tension. It takes you on a journey, and right when they seem the happiest, they get thrown into hell." For Levi and Drasa, survival isn’t enough unless they escape together: "It’s a living, breathing hell, and it’s not worth it if only one of them survives. They need to get out of that thing together, and I just love that."

Anya says: "I wanted to dance with Miles. I’ve known Miles for a long time and I knew we’d have a good time making the movie. And I was in it for the dancing of course." (via whattowatch)

She describes Drasa as someone surprisingly at ease despite her job: "Because she’s so light, she’s able to bring Levi out of a dark place. I think she reminds Levi that there is light in the world. It felt really tender. I really loved the way they fell in love and what they do for each other. I found it very believable."

Miles adds how deeply he connected with his character: "When I read the scripts, my heart just broke for Levi. He felt like he was just existing, somewhere in between and out of place. So, I really wanted that connection that he forms with Drasa to be some kind of light coming back into his life."
