Marvel Studios has released the first teaser trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, offering a glimpse of the highly anticipated reboot of Marvel’s First Family. In this article, we will discuss what the teaser trailer shows.
Set in a 1960s-inspired world, the teaser trailer begins with an introduction to Baxter Hall. We get to see H.E.R.B.I.E the robot that cooks food for the entire team. Reed Richards and Sue Storm talk about the space accident that gave them their powers. “Before we went up the first time, you (Sue) couldn’t turn invisible,” he says.
He continues, “Ben wasn’t a rock and Johnny never caught fire.” To this Sue replies, “Ben has always been a rock and Johnny is Johnny, and I am right here.” The trailer emphasizes the importance of family as Sue says, “Whatever life throws at us, we’ll face it together, as a family.” Check out the trailer below:
A short teaser released earlier showed a group of kids gathering around vintage TVs, excitedly watching what appears to be a space launch featuring Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm. One screen displays the words "Prepare 4 launch," while another shows a spacecraft soaring through the sky, hinting at the moment that transforms the team into superheroes.
In addition to the teaser, Marvel has unveiled the film’s first theatrical poster—a minimalist design featuring a launch button and the surnames of the Fantastic Four.
Pedro Pascal leads the cast as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, alongside Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.
The film also introduces Game of Thrones alum Ralph Ineson as the cosmic villain Galactus and Julia Garner as his powerful Herald, Silver Surfer. Additional cast members include Natasha Lyonne, John Malkovich, and Paul Walter Houser in undisclosed roles, with speculation that Houser could be playing Mole Man.
Director Matt Shakman (WandaVision) helms the film, which takes place in an alternate universe but will tie into the larger MCU through Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. The screenplay, originally written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, has been refined by The Fault in Our Stars writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber.
Filming wrapped in Spain in December 2024, and the movie is now in post-production ahead of its theatrical release on Friday, July 25, 2025. With Marvel teasing a “fantastic new era,” excitement is at an all-time high.
