Prime Video’s The Bondsman wraps up its first season with a jaw-dropping twist that could change everything for Hub Halloran. The supernatural thriller, starring Kevin Bacon, follows Hub, a bounty hunter resurrected by the Devil to hunt demons. But as he searches for a way out of his cursed deal, his actions only bring greater destruction. The finale leaves him facing an impossible choice—one that could doom humanity.

Lilith’s Possession of Maryanne Raises the Stakes

After Hub and Midge exorcise Lilith from Cheryl Dawson’s body, the powerful demon takes a new form—a crow. However, Lilith’s influence isn’t over. In the shocking final moments, she possesses Maryanne, Hub’s ex-wife, cementing her hold over him. This move not only strengthens Lilith’s power but also ensures Hub remains tied to her, setting up a dangerous conflict for season two.

Hub’s deal with Lilith: A Dangerous Gamble

Despite nearly trapping Lilith, Hub ultimately accepts her deal—his freedom and Sheryl’s survival in exchange for letting her go. But this decision comes at a terrible cost. Unbeknownst to Hub, Lilith’s release gives her unchecked power over the human realm, putting the entire world at risk. His selfish act may have just unleashed an even greater evil.

Lucky Callahan’s Brutal fate

Lucky Callahan, once a feared gangster, tries to redeem himself for Maryanne and their son, Cade. But after Hub exposes Lucky’s role in his murder attempt, Lucky retaliates by tipping off the police about Hub’s crimes. Thinking he’s won, Lucky confronts Maryanne—only to realize too late that she is now possessed by Lilith. In a gruesome scene, Lilith forces him to rip his own jaw apart, killing him instantly.

Sheryl’s Resurrection: A new Mystery

One of the biggest twists comes when Sheryl, the woman Hub mistakenly killed in a drunken rage, is resurrected as part of his deal with Lilith. However, she appears to have no memory of what happened. This leaves Hub with a new dilemma—does he finally come clean, or will his dark past catch up to him once more?

How The Bondsman’s Ending sets up Season 2

With Lilith free and Lucifer likely furious over Hub’s betrayal, season two could introduce the Devil himself. Hub may have escaped one deal, but now he’s caught between two powerful forces—Lilith and Satan. Can he outmaneuver them both, or will he be forced to pick a side?

The Bondsman season finale leaves viewers with more questions than answers, making a second season all but necessary.

Star Kevin Bacon and the showrunner, executive producer and writer Eric Oleson are optimistic that they can keep “The Bondsman” going. (via Variety)

They have not picked the show up for a second season, but we’ve already had conversations about if they were to do it, what it might be,” Bacon said.

He added, “Going deeper into Hub’s issues — I’ll leave it to the writers to figure out all the plot stuff, but from a character standpoint I’m always looking for new and harder challenges, whether they be physical challenges or emotional challenges: Loss, guilt, redemption.

I have evil, devious plans for a second season, and I tried with the way I wrote Season 1 to make it as difficult on Amazon as possible to not give us a second season. There’s a lot more story to tell in this world. We’re just getting started,”  Oleson added.

The Bondsman is now streaming on Prime Video. Stay tuned for updates as more details emerge.
