The Bachelor 2025 Episode 1 Recap: Who Went Home? Who got the First rose? 

The Bachelor season 29 is here and Grant Ellis is ready to find his love! We first saw him in season 21 of The Bachelorette where he fell for Jenn Tran. However, he went home without love. But now, he is back as a man who is hunting for lasting love among the 25 eligible bachelorettes. The Bachelor 2025 episode 1 has aired and in this article, we will recap what happened as well as reveal who went home. 

Grant Ellis Talked About his Background

Grant Ellis kicked off the episode by telling Bachelor Nation that he loved Basketball and explained that the sport played a big role in his formative years. The sport taught him hard work as well as how to bear life’s ups and downs. Also, he revealed that he did play professionally before he got injured. 

Meet-and-Greet with the Women 

After getting out of the limo, he met the women who are vying for his heart. Ellis introduced himself to them and carried out little activities with them all. He also got a heart-shaped pizza, a bedazzled basketball, a cannoli, chips and salsa, as well as a visit from a Llama called Linda (she is the wingwoman of Alexe Godin, a French Canadian)

After the meet and greet, Ellis let his intentions known. He said, “I want to be a husband. I want a wife. I want to be a father. I want to have a family. And I’m here for love, first and foremost.” As the party got going, Ellis went back to meet the women again. One played piano for him while another shot hoops with him. One woman also taught him a breathing exercise!

A Mystery Woman 

The episode also introduced a mystery woman who everyone thought was Ellis’ ex-girlfriend who wanted a second chance with him. This made everyone dub her as enemy #1. However, it was revealed that she was actually his older sister Taylor. She shared some baby photos of Grant and also reiterated his point that he’s here to find his soulmate. 

She also revealed that he was with his ex for seven years, so he believes in a long-term relationship. However, she didn’t stay around to select Grant's first rose recipient. 

Who got Grant Ellis’ First Impression Rose?

Grant Ellis gave the first rose to Alexe Godin, a 27-year-old (who brought Linda the Llama) pediatric speech therapist from New Brunswick, Canada. The added bonus of receiving the first rose is that she would get the first date with Grant, completely one-on-one. 

As for why he chose her, Grant revealed that it was because she was energetic, quirky, and smart. But most of all, he felt that he had a connection and spark with her. So, he wanted to get to know her better. Also, apart from Alexe, Litia and Parisa also got the rest of the two roses.
