Unfortunate news for anime lovers this week, the Technoroid Overmind anime will, unfortunately, see a delay in its release. The news comes via the series' official website, which also announced that the reason behind the delay is the rapid spread of COVID-19 among in-house staff members. The anime studio Doga Kobo, which is producing the project, confirmed similar news earlier this month.
The studio confirmed it had shut down from April 6 until April 17 to limit the spread of COVID-19 among in-house staff members and to deep clean the office. No employees were allowed in the office during this time. It had also been announced that the anime series, Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie, might see delays. However, for now, Technoroid Overmind is the only one facing a delay.
The production team for Technoroid Ovemind's anime series has recently announced that the series will see a delay in its July 2022 release. The production committee explained that a new broadcast time is currently being discussed and will be revealed once confirmed. Imu Gahi will direct the upcoming anime series.
Technoroid Overmind is set in a world where Androids and robots do the work that humans can't, including keeping said humans entertained. The series follows four ownerless androids fighting to the top of an entertainment tower known as Babel to challenge its reigning champions. It sees Ayumi Sekine as the series composer, while Saori Sakiguchi handles the character designs.
Anime News Network describes Technoroid Overmind as:
"The story of “wretched, beautiful androids” is set on the entertainment tower Babel, the new source of hope for humanity after climate change has submerged the world underwater. Several unique musical units compete to rise to the top of Babel, by moving the hearts of both humans and androids with their performances."
