This new year, there’s a new thriller that’s coming soon! Subteran is a Romanian series that follows a mother who hears her fiance get killed. What follows is a game of cat-and-mouse where she will have to keep her young son safe while also using her tech skills to figure out what resulted in the murder of her fiance.Â
A release date is set and a trailer has been released. The latter shows an explosive combination of action, thrills, and IT skills to find out the truth behind the murder. Subteran’s six episodes will be released on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, only on Netflix.Â
While talking to her fiance on the phone, Cami finds out that he has been shot dead. In a moment, her happy life which consisted of the man she loved and her young son, gets completely shattered. She finds out that he has been killed by the Bucharest gang.Â
Will the criminals hot on her trail, Cami will have to hide her identity and keep her son safe, all the while trying to avenge her fiance’s death. She will have to use her IT skills when an old computer resurfaces with the files that the gang wants. Will she be able to get to it before and find out what was in it, that was worth killing over?Â

Subteran is produced by Tudor Reu and directed by Anca Miruna Lăzărescu, Daniel Sandu, and Octav Gheorghe. Mobra Films is producing it. Johnathan Young is the creative producer. The series is created by Steve Bailie and written by Octav Gheorghe and Peter Kerek. Filming began in October 2023 and finished in early 2024.Â
