Amazon made Sling TV available to Echo Show 15 customers in the US and said that it would soon be rolled out on other devices as well. You can now watch your favorite on-demand content via the live streaming TV service on the Echo Show 15 starting March 15. This move also gives Sling users more control flexibility to enjoy live TV and expands its reach to Echo Show users.
To access Sling, all you need to do is say, "Alexa, launch SLING TV" or "Alexa, open SLING." Once you sign in to your account, you can ask to watch a specific program or channel by saying "Alexa, watch ESPN" or "Alexa, tune to CNN." Apart from live TV, Sling customers can enjoy over 150,000 on-demand movies, TV shows, and more.
Amazon had earlier announced that the streamer would soon be available on the Echo Show devices. Seth Van Sickel, SVP Product and Operations for SLING TV, said, "With SLING, Echo Show can function more like a traditional television with linear channels. It bridges the gap for cord-cutters so they can go about their lives, whether that's meal prepping in the kitchen or working out, without missing a second of their favorite live sports, news, and entertainment."
To use the Sling app on your Amazon Echo Show device, you need to subscribe to one of its packages, which start from $35 per month. New and returning customers can try Sling TV for free, as the platform offers a 3-day free trial. It now joins other streaming services available on Amazon Echo Show 15, including Netflix, Hulu, Hulu+LiveTV, and Tubi.
