A new VPN (Virtual Private Network) service named "Solis VPN" has been announced by Skyroam and NordVPN, as the product of their partnership. NordVPN is a distinguished and highly popular VPN service that stands among the top choices on the global market. Skyroam is the developer of a unique virtual SIM tech that enables travelers to connect via mobile WiFi wherever they may be in the world. It’s basically a software-based global connectivity system that covers more than 130 countries and offers 4G internet services by using the local infrastructure.
Solis VPN is a new service, created for Skyroam's 15 million customers, enabling them to enjoy the power of a reliable VPN product while traveling around the globe. This means securing your privacy and engaging in anonymous Web browsing, getting through restrictive geo-blocks that are active in many countries out there, and protecting your communications with military-grade encryption. Solis VPN offers servers located in 16 countries, and also comes with an "auto-fixing" feature that will keep you online and protected even in the rare cases of a server breakdown.
NordVPN’s Ruby Gonzalez stated the following:
“More than ever before, users need all-around security solutions wherever they are - traveling, working from home, or a cafe. This partnership will enable people to safeguard their online privacy in a fast, seamless way - from their desktop or smartphones, wherever they go.”
Skyroam’s President, Eric Plam, made the below statement:
“We are thrilled to come together on this partnership to enable more users to seamlessly access world-class VPN while on the Skyroam network, so they can feel more secure and easily access content as they would at home, from anywhere in the world.”
The service is offered either via a monthly (recurring) subscription that costs $9/8€ or as a 30-day plan for $12/11€. Thus, both frequent travelers and those who just need the VPN service for a specific trip are covered. Each subscription comes with a device number limit of 10, which is the same as the Solis WiFi smart-spot. This limit should be more than enough to cover the smartphones, laptops, and tablets of a small team or a family. To access Solis VPN, you’ll first need to subscribe to the Skyroam Solis X or Skyroam Solis Lite hotspot, so you can’t use it as a standalone VPN solution.
