While the family appears ready to start another season, events took a tragic turn on March 5, when it was announced that Janelle and Kody’s son, Garrison, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The news shocked many, especially considering Garrison was just 25 and beginning to rebuild his life in Arizona. As a result, the show will not be canceled; instead, season 19 will include a fast-forward to address the aftermath of Garrison's death.
