Release date & Where to Watch

Originally titled L'ombra del lupo, the film debuted at the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival in 2018. It was later made available on Amazon Prime Video and will now be released on demand and digital in the US starting Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

What is the plot of Shadow of the Wolf? 

When Nico returns to his small hometown in central Italy to say goodbye to his ailing mother, he uncovers a terrifying mystery. The town is shaken by a series of gruesome murders, with the police suspecting a wolf as the killer.

Directed by Alberto Gelpi (Heritage, La mia seconda volta) and written by Alessandro Riccardi, Shadow of the Wolf (originally L'ombra del lupo) is an Italian horror film that premiered at the 2018 Trieste Science+Fiction Festival. The story is by Viviana Panfili and Alessandro Riccardi while Phillip B. Goldfine, Alessandro Riccardi, Gianluca Varriale, and Alessandro Gatto are the producers.

The film has already been released in Italy in 2020. It will soon be available for direct-to-VOD release in the US through Lionsgate.
