Samsung announced four new smartphones to strengthen its portfolio of Samsung Galaxy midrange devices in India with its new A and J series offerings. With prices ranging from 13,990 INR to 22,990 INR, the Korean brand is trying to offer Android Oreo combined with a large screen experience at modest prices.

Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6+

The Galaxy A6 and A6+ join the A series of devices which aim to offer the same metal unibody construction as its more expensive siblings. The A6 and A6+ are powered by an Exynos 7 Series and a Snapdragon 450 series SoC respectively. Both devices come with 16 MP rear facing cameras for your photography needs.

The A6+ offers a larger display, more battery life, and a higher resolution front camera compared to the A6. The A6 offers more storage options with a 32GB and 64GB variant available while the A6+ is available only in a 64GB variant with both the A6 and the A6+ being powered by 4GB RAM. Both devices can accommodate a micro SD card of up to 256GB in size. The A6 and A6+ come with Android O skinned with Samsung’s custom UI. The A6 is priced at 21,990 INR for the 32GB version, and the 64GB version will set you back by 22,990. A6+ is priced at 25,990 INR.

Samsung Galaxy J6 and J8

The J series offerings are similar to the A series of releases but come with some cut corners when it comes to hardware and polycarbonate unibody construction instead of metal. The Exynos 7 series powered by J6 comes with a 5.6” HD+ Super AMOLED display with 13MP and 8MP rear and front facing cameras respectively. The J6 comes with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage options with expandable memory up to 256GB via a microSD card. The phone is powered by a 3000mah battery and is priced at 13,990 and 16,490 depending on which storage and RAM variant you pick up.

The J8 is powered by a Snapdragon 450 SoC and comes with a larger 6” display. The camera unit also sees a bump over the J6 with a 16MP unit on the rear and back. Unlike the J6, the J8 comes in just one 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant with expandable memory of up to 256GB. With a 3500 mah battery to power the device and Android O running under the hood, the device is priced at 18,990 INR. All four devices will be available in India at both retail and online stores starting tomorrow - May 22, 2018.
