The first part of the two-part anime movie "RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM" was released today in limited theaters across Japan! The second part will be released in Japan sooner than you think. In addition to the release date, the new visual for the second part was also revealed. The upcoming second part has been subtitled Boku wa Kimi Wo Aishiteru (I love you).
It was further revealed that the RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM MUSIC COLLECTION CD, which contains music from both parts, will be released on July 20. Read on to know more about the film.
The two-part anime movie "RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM" will release its second part in Japan on July 22. The compilation film based on the original 2011 anime with new elements is directed by Kunihiko Ikuhara, with Nobuyuki Takeuchi helping out as the deputy director. Original characters for the film have been designed by Lily Hoshino, with Terumi Nishii returning to adapt them into animation alongside Tomomi Kawatsuma.
The animation for Re:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM was done at BRAIN'S BASE, with the theatrical edition having its animation produced at Lapin Track. Both compilation films were crowdfunded, raising 105,192,960 yen (US$957,606) against a funding goal of just 10 million yen. Check out a visual for the upcoming second film below:
