Why did Bobby Leave Queer Eye?

Interior design expert Bobby Berk announced on his Instagram that he would be leaving the show after season eight. He wrote, "It’s with a heavy heart that I announce that season 8 will be my final season on Queer Eye. It’s not been an easy decision to be at peace with, but a necessary one. Although my journey with Queer Eye is over, my journey with you is not. You will be seeing more of me very soon."

In a Vanity Fair article, he explained that he left the show mostly due to a contractual issue. He (along with the other members of the OG Fab Five) had signed a seven-cycle contract that ended in September 2022. However, when Netflix renewed the series, he chose not to return for future seasons due to other commitments.

Speaking about a feud with co-host Tan France, Berk said, "Tan and I had a moment. There was a situation, and that’s between Tan and I, and it has nothing to do with the show. It was something personal that had been brewing — and nothing romantic, just to clarify that." He added, "Should I have unfollowed Tan (on Instagram)? No. Maybe I should have just muted him. But that day, I was angry, and that’s the end of it. We became like siblings—and siblings are always going to fight."

Interior designer Jeremiah Brent will replace Berk and join the cast for the new season.

Who is Jeremiah Brent?

Jeremiah Brent is an interior designer and the founder of Atrio, a lifestyle brand, as well as his interior design firm, Jeremiah Brent Design (JBD), with offices in Los Angeles and New York City. He recently released his first book, The Space That Keeps You. It explores beautiful interior design and looks at the emotional impact of spaces, focusing on what gives them meaning.

Where is Queer Eye Season 9 Filmed?

The new season was filmed in Las Vegas, moving away from New Orleans.
