What is the plot of Predator: Killer of Killers?

Predator: Killer of Killers is a three-part animated anthology that plunges into a brutal cross-era confrontation between humanity’s deadliest fighters and the universe’s most ruthless hunter.

The logline reveals that the film “follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge; a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession; and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. But while all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent — the ultimate killer of killers.” (via The Walt Disney)

Structured as three interconnected stories spanning distinct historical periods, the film tracks how legendary fighters from Viking-era Scandinavia, feudal Japan, and WWII Europe each come face-to-face with a lethal Yautja warrior. Though separated by time and culture, all are bound by a single terrifying reality: the Predator is watching, hunting, and ready to challenge anyone who dares stand in its path.

How did Predator: Killer of Killers come to be?

Dan Trachtenberg, who directed the 2022 Predator hit Prey, became the creative force behind this new entry after the success of that film. 20th Century Studios President Steve Asbell told The Hollywood Reporter in 2023:

After Prey became a success, Dan [Trachtenberg] came back and said he didn’t want to do Prey 2. And we’re like, ‘What do you want to do?’ And he rattled off a bunch of ideas that were really crazy but really cool. We’ve actually done two of them.”

Discussing the film’s setting and concept, Trachtenberg explained that each segment of the anthology was chosen for its unique combat style and dramatic stakes. “Most characters are dealing with generational [issues], trying to break a cycle. All the chapters are different genre-wise,” he said. (via Bloody Disgusting)

From the frosty battlegrounds of 841 AD featuring a Viking warrior on a bloody path of vengeance to adventurous scenes like those in the American pilot segment, every era was selected with one question in mind: “Who would be a unique challenge for the Predator?

From samurai swordplay to WWII dogfights, the film’s anthology format explores the Predator’s encounters across time without tying itself to a single narrative arc. Trachtenberg confirmed that the film was created to stand alone, always as an anthology feature.

Is There a Trailer for Predator Killer of Killers?

From the very first frame, Predator: Killer of Killers makes one thing absolutely clear — this is not your average animated spinoff. It’s blood-soaked, beautifully brutal, and fully locked in on delivering a visceral Predator experience across three jaw-dropping timelines.

Blood-daubed Viking warriors? Check. The anthology opens with a primal fury as Norse combatants clash in a landscape drenched in vengeance — and blood. The trailer teases a deadly mother-son mission that gets hijacked by something far worse than rival clans: a towering, cloaked Yautja, complete with glowing eyes and that unmistakable growl.

Samurai bisections that are strictly R-rated? Triple check. In feudal Japan, a traitorous ninja and his samurai brother face a new kind of dishonor when the Predator slices its way into their deadly feud. Think Blue Eye Samurai with alien tech and even sharper swords. And yes — limbs do fly.

Spitfire dogfights with Yautja spacecraft? Check. In a WWII-era dogfight, the sky turns hostile not just from enemy planes but from above-earth visitors. A lone Allied pilot faces a brutal test of survival when a Predator’s ship enters the fray. Laser blasts, aerial maneuvers, and cloaking tech light up the clouds in a sequence that’s as thrilling as it is apocalyptic.

Visually, Killer of Killers is stunning — think the stylized grit of Arcane fused with the sharp-edged storytelling of Love, Death + Robots. Thanks to the animation wizards at The Third Floor, every frame pulses with cinematic weight and stylized savagery.

And then there are the Predators themselves. Three distinct Yautjan warriors appear in the trailer, each bringing their own spin to the iconic monster design — from massive, hulking brutes to eerily silent stalkers. These aren’t just palette swaps — they’re evolutions, each dripping with menace.

One ominous voiceover cuts through the chaos: "You’re old enough now. It’s time I tell you about the monster." Later she says, “We must kill it or it will kill us all.

With the trailer alone giving fans plenty to drool over — from gory kills to new Predator tech — Predator: Killer of Killers looks set to be a savage, stylish, and seriously ambitious leap for the franchise. And if you were worried that animation might dull the creature’s edge? Trust us — these killers still kill hard.

What is the Second film ‘Predator: Badlands’ About?

Predator: Badlands is the second of two Predator films releasing in 2025, and it takes the franchise into bold new territory. Set in the future on a remote planet, the story follows a young, outcast Predator who unexpectedly teams up with a human—Thia, played by Elle Fanning—as they embark on a dangerous quest to find the ultimate adversary.

At CinemaCon, Fanning stunned fans with a surprising twist about the movie’s premise. “Something unprecedented happens in this movie, and my character is not the one being chased. My character actually teams up with the Predator, and you get to see him in a whole new light,” she revealed. (via The Hollywood Reporter)

This revelation also confirmed a major question left hanging since late 2024, when 20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell told The Hollywood Reporter that two Predator films were planned for 2025. While Predator: Badlands had been announced, the second title remained a mystery until Predator: Killer of Killers was officially revealed in April 2025.

Interestingly, Dan Trachtenberg co-directed Killer of Killers while working on Badlands, often juggling both projects remotely from New Zealand. he told Bloody Disgusting:

We were writing the script for [Killer of Killers] while we were prevising stuff on [Badlands], and then [once on location] in New Zealand, on the way to shoot [Badlands], we would remote with everyone back here and [watch footage] thanks to Starlink,”

Reflecting on the chaotic schedule, Trachtenberg admitted, “This all was like a game of hopscotch…That was dumb. I hope I don’t do it again.”
