Plex has revamped its user interface for the holiday season with a number of new features to make the platform feel more interactive. A number of new ‘stats’ are available on the platform which highlights popular shows amongst your family members, shows that your friends are currently watching and other insights that are exclusive to Plex Pass users.

Other enhancements that are coming to Plex include a full view history and users can also see the number of users who viewed a particular TV show or movie. To get all of the new features, users need to update to the latest version of Plex Media Server or update the web app to v3.81.1 or newer.

A number of improvements have been made to subtitles as well. Plex has been working on improving subtitles for months, and we finally see the subtitles being far more reliable and in sync with the audio unlike. A number of features are locked to Plex Pass subscribers only and to access them members simply need to login to their Pass accounts.

Users will soon be able to import and delete subs even on Android and iOS apps. The audio player has been tweaked for mobile users as well. Apple TV support has been added that now allows users to play content to their Apple TV devices directly. Direct Play is being marketed to be very power-friendly for low-power media servers.

A holiday sale is ongoing for new users as well. New subscribers can use the “HOLIDAY25” coupon to receive a 25% off on lifetime subscriptions. Plex is not the only one offering a holiday theme. Last week, Roku added a number of new free themes for all users and also made all of its seasonal themes all year long from the web store.
