Imagine aiming a gun at your head, closing your eyes, and living your final moments, all set for the finale. However, instead of dying, a mask of your identity emerges: a figure that reflects your other self, a force far greater than anything you could have ever dreamed of — Persona. That is the theme of Persona 3, a PlayStation game by Atlus. Even though the anime is based on the game, it is self-contained because it covers the game's concepts.

The Persona anime is a fantastic complement to the video game. The narrative includes startling plot twists and emotional flashbacks that serve to thoroughly entertain the audience. The show's soundtrack is well-timed and always appropriate for the scenarios. With wonderful character design, beautiful artwork, and a compelling psychological story, Persona is an anime that no one can regret watching!

However, the anime and its various adaptations do not have a set chronological order, making it difficult for someone to start watching, but thankfully, that’s where we come in! This Persona Watch Order article has everyone you might need to start your binge-watching sessions, including watch links and filler lists. So with that said, let’s get started!

Persona Anime

Persona is unquestionably on the larger side, but on the better one too!

The anime recounts the exploits of a group of exceptional youths in Ayanagi City, which is near the Japan Sea. The city is ultra-modern, as it’s created to deal with the fallout from the "Apathy Syndrome" disaster.

Shin Kanzato, a high school student, and his younger brother Jun meet with their elder brother Ryou, the Ayanagi City Police Department chief. A series of strange occurrences occurred in the city, such as a submarine's whole crew vanishing overnight but the submarine remaining undamaged. Ryou is following the group responsible for these occurrences, while Shin wakes his 'Persona' in the midst of it all.

Which Episodes Can You Skip in Persona? – Filler List!

The four seasons, five movies, nine specials, and one ONA of Persona have a total of 103 episodes, with a total of 0 fillers. This brings the filler percentage of the series to 0%.

Since the anime follows the game's narrative, there is far too much content to cover. The anime strives to justify the storyline because the game's deep and grim backstory is well-known among its fans. To sustain the game's excitement, the anime aims to stay as true to the game as possible. As a result, there are no episodes of this anime that may be considered spoilers.

Can You Watch Persona Without Playing the Game?

Yes, you can watch Persona without playing the game. While the games explore the main storyline in-depth, the main character remains the same, allowing anime watchers to easily follow what’s going on.

However, we will recommend you watch a playthrough of the game on YouTube if you are interested in the main story. Because, after all, while the anime is a beautiful adaptation, it is still incomparable to the 100+ hour gameplay of Persona.

Nonetheless, following the Persona watch order mentioned above will allow you to experience the series to its fullest.
