Peacock Debuts in UK and Ireland on November 16

Starting November 16, Peacock launches in the UK and Ireland as part of the Sky TV and NOW subscriptions. This is the first time NBCUniversal's streaming platform is officially available outside the US. However, the company did not say anything regarding the service's availability as a standalone product in Europe.

Since Sky TV and NBCU both stand under Comcast's umbrella, this collaboration makes sense, and an ad-supported Peacock will be included with the Sky subscription with no extra cost in Germany, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland as well in the coming months, making it available to almost 20 million Sky customers in total. Premium NOW subscribers reportedly won't get ads with Peacock content.

"Following its successful phased launch in the US, we are excited to mark the international debut of Peacock content in the UK and Ireland on Sky. Peacock provides Sky customers with an expanded catalogue of world-class content, including many of our most popular movies and shows from Peacock and across NBCUniversal," said Lee Raftery, Managing Director, Europe, Middle East & Africa, NBCUniversal.

In July, Peacock's executives signed a deal with Universal, DreamWorks, Illumination, and Focus Films, which will have all films of the studios arriving on the streaming platform four months after their debut on cinemas. The current Peacock content offered is:
