One Piece season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix in 2025, though a specific release date has yet to be announced.
In a video message last September, creator Eiichiro Oda thanked fans for their support and revealed that Netflix had decided to renew the series just two weeks after its launch. This confirmed that the adventures of Iñaki Godoy and the live-action Straw Hats will continue.
The second season of One Piece is poised to follow the Arabasta arc, diving deeper into the story of the Baroque Works criminal network. Luffy's growing notoriety will bring new challenges, particularly with the introduction of Smoker, a determined Marine vice admiral dedicated to capturing him. The season will also explore the desert nation of Arabasta and introduce fan-favorite characters, including Dr. Kureha and Tony Tony Chopper.
As the Straw Hats journey to the Grand Line, they will make a crucial stop in Loguetown, where Gol D. Roger met his end. The season is expected to adapt several arcs, including Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, and Drum Island, before culminating in the epic Arabasta storyline. This arc will showcase new villains like Mr. 3, who possesses the ability to manipulate candle wax.
With plans for potentially multiple seasons, including hopes for 12, the live-action adaptation aims to faithfully capture the expansive One Piece universe, featuring returning favorites and new faces. As Luffy and his crew navigate the perils of the Grand Line, fans can expect intense conflicts, character development, and deeper lore, promising an exhilarating continuation of their adventure.
The second season of One Piece is expected to have at least eight episodes, similar to the first season. However, given the variety of arcs being introduced, there are rumors that it may feature an extended episode count, possibly reaching ten episodes.

Filming for the second season has just begun, so it will be some time before we see first-look images or a trailer. However, we'll update you as soon as we hear any news.
During Netflix's Geek Week, the streamer dropped an "inside look" clip that also gave us a first look at Chopper:
As the Straw Hats set sail, Luffy learns he now has the highest bounty in the East Blue following his victory over the Arlong Pirates, marking him as a true pirate and placing him in great danger. Leaving the East Blue, they embark on their quest to conquer the Grand Line in search of the One Piece.
In the season one finale, a mysterious figure with white hair and two cigars is seen burning Luffy’s wanted poster, hinting at more peril ahead. Oda mentioned, “It’ll still take a while to get the scripts ready, so please be patient,” adding that the Straw Hats will need a great doctor moving forward.
Filming for One Piece season two is “well underway,” according to Oda. In his recent update, he hinted that the new season will cover key locations, including Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Capes), Whiskey Peak, Little Island, and Drum Island. The Straw Hats have returned to South Africa, with cast members arriving from various locations, including Mexico, Japan, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.
Netflix officially announced the start of production on July 1, 2024, sharing an adorable video of the cast reuniting in Cape Town, where filming is taking place.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians co-executive producer Joe Tracz has been confirmed as writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner on the upcoming second season, working alongside season one co-showrunner Matt Owens. Steve Maeda, who helped develop the series and served as co-showrunner in season one, continues as an executive producer.
Tracz previously worked on A Series of Unfortunate Events and co-created Dash & Lily, both based on popular book series. Owens and Maeda remain in their roles as writers, executive producers, and showrunners, with Oda, Marty Adelstein, and Becky Clements also serving as executive producers. The series is produced by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix in partnership with Shueisha.
