If there is one film the MCU fandom is most divided on, then it’s Eternals. Released in 2021, the film holds a 77% audience score and 47% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. As per The Numbers, the movie grossed more than $401 million at the worldwide box office.
Out of this, $164 million came from the domestic market, which is quite disappointing for an MCU film. For a long time, fans have wondered if Marvel Studios will ever make a sequel. At the time of writing, that hasn’t materialized yet.
Yet, fans still hoped that if not a sequel, they will get to see the team in Avengers: Doomsday. However, as per one of the cast members, that doesn’t seem possible.
The Direct asked Lauren Ridloff, who played Makkari in the film, if fans can expect to see the Eternals in the MCU now that Avengers: Doomsday is getting ready to shoot. Additionally, the names of some of the cast members who will be in the film has already been revealed.
However, the actor thinks its unlikely. She said, “Not likely. I don't know, my magic eight-ball is telling me, 'Not likely.'" However, at D23 Brazil in 2024, Marvel boss Kevin Feige said about the film, “That cast was incredible. We’d be lucky to get any of them back at some point.”
It now remains to be seen when fans will get to see the Eternals together again. Although Tiamut appeared in Captain America: Brave New World, it was used as just a plot device to introduce Adamantium to the MCU.
One of the post-credits scenes of the Eternals hinted at the existence of the vampire hunter, Blade, in the MCU. At the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige announced a reboot of Blade, with Mahershala Ali set to star. However, over the years, the film has faced multiple development issues.
In March 2025, The Playlist’s Rodrigo Perez, tweeted that “Blade movie is essentially nixed for now.” Check out his X thread below:
While Mahershala Ali is still attached all these years later, despite some of the talk that he was being difficult about approving scripts, from what I’m hearing the “Blade” movie is essentially nixed for now.

But he also said that the character could be introduced in other MCU films. Perez tweeted:
“Blade will likely be introduced formally in either the still-developing “Midnight Suns” movie or “Avengers: Secret Wars,” or possibly as a supporting character in another movie—like the way Namor was first introduced in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
The reporter added that chances are we will get to see him in Midnight Suns if that project ends up happening. He tweeted:
Now, if I were a betting man, I would say likely not “Secret Wars” as Marvel tends to not randomly add new characters into big ensemble casts like that because Blade would totally be lost in that shuffle and would not get a proper introduction.

It'll either be “Midnight Suns” and if they don’t crack that story, they’ll likely find a way to introduce him in someone else’s story, perhaps paving the way for a solo film down the road.

So, even though fans of the Eternals hoped to see the team or at least some team members in the Blade film, as of now, that doesn’t seem to be a possibility. It now remains to be seen where we will see the Eternals next.
Eternals is available to stream on Disney+.
