Murder at the Lighthouse: What we know About the dark Horror Mystery

What will happen to the woman who is trying to get away from a life of abuse? Will she find solace in a lonely lighthouse, or will she jump from a frying pan right into the fire?

Release date and Where to Watch 

Murder at the Lighthouse will premiere on Lifetime on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at 8/7c. It will stream the next day on the Lifetime site. 

What is Murder at the Lighthouse About?

Murder at the Lighthouse follows Jess, a woman fleeing an abusive ex-partner. Tired of the life she is trapped in, she hires a fishing boat captain to take her across Lake Superior so that she can start a new life in Canada. But her hopes get dashed when she faces an accident. 

When Jess washes up on the shore, she gets taken in by a reclusive lighthouse keeper called Adeline. As Jess gets slowly nursed back to health, she realizes that in trying to escape one trap, she has wandered into another one altogether. When her ex-partner wanders in after her, Jess will be tested in more ways than one. 

The film will have visuals of the open sea, darkness, and sunset which will compliment Jess's complicated psychological situation.

A sneak peek of the film shows Jess recovering from her boating accident thanks to the lighthouse keeper. However, trouble literally knocks on her door when her ex-partner comes calling for her. Filming and Production

Murder at the Lighthouse was mainly shot in Minnesota. Filming locations included St. Louis County; Superior, Wisconsin; and the port city of Duluth. The movie also features the Twig General Store, located at 5302 Twig Boulevard. 

As for lighthouses, Wisconsin Point Light and Duluth South Breakwater Inner Light will be shown in the film. The principal photography began in October 2024 and was completed in 11 days.
