Yes, Moana 2’s credit scenes are there. It sees the return of Matangi, who’s now facing Nalo’s wrath. Nalo is the god who sank the island of Motufetu and prevented the ocean people from connecting. Matangi faces Nalo’s judgment because she helped Moana and Maui escape the giant sea clam even though she was instructed not to. 

She helped them under the guise of freeing herself even though she was never seen in the film again after Moana and her group left. However, Matangi denies any wrongdoing. She says that she didn’t help them at all. Nalo then promises to get revenge on Maui and Moana. 

This sets up his possible return in the next film after Moana 2. But this isn’t all. There’s one more surprise as well. Tamatoa returns! Tamatoa interrupts the conversation to offer his own services against Moana and Maui. Also, he sings a song about crab legs. 

Who is Tamatoa? 

For those who can’t remember, Tamatoa hails from Lalotai, a realm full of monsters. He was first seen in the first Moana film. Tamatoa is a giant crab who loves collecting shiny trinkets, which he then puts on his shell. He is pretty self-obsessed and uses gold and diamonds to gain any advantages he can.
