Microsoft users have been asking for years and now it's happening. The new Redstone 5 update for Windows 10 is on its way. In it, users will find handy updates to Notepad, one of the most favored and used tools.
Some would say the current design and functionality of this tool to be primitive. It's been years since Microsoft deployed any changes. However, even in its basic form, it's a dynamic tool in the Microsoft console. Now, with the new update, it will be easy to get even more done. Users who ignored it until now should probably take note.
One of the best features is that you'll be able to zoom in and out to view text more effectively. Notepad will also automatically make adjustments so you can view long sentences that are longer than the default windows size. One of the most requested features that will become reality is the display of line and column numbers. However, users need to enable word-wrap first. Functions that come standard in other programs will now work in Notepad too. For example, Ctrl + Backspace will delete a word, one by one.
This isn't the only tool undergoing an update. Even for those who don't use Notepad, some of the features may be extremely welcome. The best ones relate to signing in. Firstly, the brand added a Web Sign-in tool. This allows you to sign in even if you're using a non-ADFS (Active Directory Federation Services), federated provider. Secondly, users who use the same computer and require separate profiles can sign in faster than ever before. Another change many users asked for is finding definitions while working on a PDF or book.
