Based on Lincoln Peirce’s Big Nate books, Max & the Midknights follows 10-year-old Max, an adventurous girl with dreams of becoming a knight. Alongside her newfound friends, Max embarks on a mission to save the kingdom of Byjovia from dark forces.Â
In the debut episode, "Welcome to Byjovia," Max, who longs to fight dragons, travels across the medieval countryside with her Uncle Budrick, a troubadour. Their journey takes them to Byjovia, where they encounter unexpected dangers and mysteries, revealing the kingdom to be far from what Uncle Budrick remembered.
At a panel moderated by Zeno Robinson, creator Lincoln Peirce and co-executive producers David Skelly and Sharon Flynn shared insights into the creation and development of Max & the Midknights. The discussion offered fans exclusive first-look clips from upcoming episodes and delved into the show’s origins.
Produced by Nickelodeon Animation, Max & the Midknights is led by Lincoln Peirce (Big Nate) and Jane Startz (Ella Enchanted) as executive producers, with Sharon Flynn (All Hail King Julien) and David Skelly (Toy Story 2) as co-executive producers and showrunners. Overseeing development and production are Claudia Spinelli (SVP, TV Series Animation), Nathan Schram (VP, Development), and Stephanie Alpert (VP, Production) at Nickelodeon Animation.
