Pro Tip

If Eyes of Wakanda isn’t available in your region on Disney+, a VPN is a great solution. A reliable VPN, like NordVPN, allows you to mask your real IP address and virtually relocate to a country where the show is accessible. Plot

Eyes of Wakanda is an animated anthology series that explores the history of Wakanda through the journeys of brave warriors tasked with retrieving dangerous vibranium artifacts. Set within the official MCU timeline, the show will delve into key moments in Wakandan history, spanning different time periods and expanding the Black Panther universe.

It's possible that every episode will follow different characters and explore the sacrifices made by them to maintain Wakanda’s secrecy, with the warriors encountering various challenges across the globe.

The show will introduce new characters, including a Wakandan version of “disruptors,” and even feature an appearance by Iron Fist. Unlike other animated MCU shows set in alternate universes, Eyes of Wakanda will remain grounded in the main continuity, offering an exciting expansion of Wakanda's rich lore. The show is noted for its hand-drawn art style, bringing a fresh visual approach to the MCU.

So, fans can expect a truly unique addition to the MCU, where animated storytelling meets the rich narrative of Wakanda’s past.

Voice cast

The voice cast for Eyes of Wakanda has yet to be officially revealed, but rumors are suggesting that Danai Gurira, who portrays Okoye in the MCU, could reprise her role for the animated series. However, Marvel Studios has not confirmed anything as of now. Fans are eagerly awaiting further updates on the casting.

Official Trailer

While there’s no full trailer yet, a teaser for Eyes of Wakanda was unveiled on Oct. 30, 2024, as part of Marvel’s 2025 sizzle reel. The brief clip, which also featured footage from other upcoming Marvel shows like Daredevil: Born Again and Ironheart, offered a quick glimpse of Eyes of Wakanda around the 1:26 mark. Fans can expect more details as the series approaches its release.

How did Eyes of Wakanda come Together?

Eyes of Wakanda became a reality thanks to longtime storyboard artist Todd Harris. He pitched the idea to Ryan Coogler, Black Panther's writer-director. Coogler, impressed by the concept, took the pitch to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who immediately greenlit the project, stating, "Let's do it."

Is Black Panther 3 Happening?

Black Panther 3 has yet to be officially confirmed by Marvel Studios. After the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman in 2020, Marvel made the decision not to recast T'Challa, instead addressing his character’s death in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where the mantle of Black Panther was passed to his sister, Shuri (Letitia Wright). While both Black Panther films were critical and commercial successes, there has been no official announcement regarding a third installment.

In January 2023, Letitia Wright suggested that Black Panther 3 was in the works, but she later clarified in February that she was referring to the hope for another film in the franchise rather than confirmed production plans. As of now, fans remain hopeful for more stories from Wakanda, but Marvel has not confirmed a timeline or release for the third film.

Behind the Scenes

Ryan Coogler, director of Black Panther, returns to the Marvel universe as a producer for the upcoming series Eyes of Wakanda, developed by Todd Harris. Known for his work as a storyboard artist on several films like Black Panther and Avengers: Endgame, Harris takes the helm as the director.

The series, produced by Marvel Animation, promises to deliver thrilling action sequences, with many fans drawing comparisons to the "Marvel Gundam" vibe. Executive producer Brad Winderbaum has emphasized that the series fits seamlessly into the MCU's continuity, offering a unique look at the world of Wakanda while connecting to the larger MCU.
