Brand new episodes of the espionage thriller are on its way! Paramount+ will soon release the highly anticipated second season of the original drama series Lioness.
Joe, played by Zoe Saldaña, is a CIA operative. She and her boss, Kaitlyn Meade, played by Nicole Kidman, lead a team focused on deploying female agents to high-risk missions. Lioness season two has been confirmed, and filming started earlier this year after a successful first season.
Talking about the new installment, which includes a rough start with Josie, Saldaña said, "It’s a strange relationship — there’s a lot of mistrust from the beginning." And about her relationship with her on-screen boss, she said, "There is absolute trust in Joe’s relationship with Kaitlyn. They very much have a role model, mentee-mentor kind of relationship. Joe has always looked up to Kaitlyn and Kaitlyn knows that there is nothing that she can ask of Joe that she won't deliver on. Joe always demands excellence from herself and from her team because she regards Kaitlyn so highly and having her respect is very important to her because they’re very much Lionesses, both of them. In terms of driving missions, they believe in what they’re doing and believe in the Lioness program."
Here's everything we know about Special Ops: Lioness season two, including the premiere date, star-studded cast, plot details, and more. Keep an eye on this space as we regularly update this article with the latest information.
Lioness season two premieres with two episodes on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024, exclusively on Paramount+. The rest of the episodes will drop weekly.
In season two, the CIA is fighting terrorism closer to home. Joe, Kaitlyn, and Byron recruit a new Lioness operative to infiltrate a previously unidentified threat. With pressure building up, Joe must face the personal sacrifices she has made as the leader of the Lioness program.
Filming is currently underway in Texas, relocating from the streets of Baltimore, Maryland.
The series is created by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone) and produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios. Saldaña and Kidman are also executive producers, along with Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, David Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, and Keith Cox.
