What is the plot of Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5?

Where did Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 Leave off?
Season four of Law & Order: Organized Crime ended on a tense cliffhanger involving arms dealer Julian Emery (Tom Payne) and a stash of Soviet nerve agents. While the OCCB managed to intercept part of the shipment and take out Emery’s bodyguard in a gunfight, Emery escaped on a private jet—bringing along Stabler’s younger brother, Joe Jr. (Michael Trotter), who had been working undercover in his crew.
Though Joe had relayed key intel, Emery outmaneuvered the team with a second briefcase of the bio-weapon, which he handcuffed to Joe, suspecting betrayal but unaware of Joe’s true allegiance.
Why is Organized Crime Moving from NBC to Peacock?
Law & Order: Organized Crime isn’t being dropped — it’s shifting platforms. According to Jeff Bader, President of Program Planning Strategy at NBCUniversal Entertainment, the decision to move season five to Peacock was driven by strong streaming performance.
“Organized Crime is a very successful show; this isn’t a show that was on the bubble,” Bader told TVLine in May. “It’s a show that works across the board, and it’s very, very strong on streaming. [Moving Season 5 to Peacock] is a win-win for us — 80 percent of its viewing isn’t in the time period where we schedule it, it’s delayed on Peacock, so it just made sense to move that to free up the time period.”
The move also clears the 10/9c Thursday time slot, which will now be filled by Found. Meanwhile, Organized Crime will continue on Peacock, with its season five premiere receiving a special showing on NBC.

Shiban departed the show early in November, as reported by Deadline. After a brief production pause, filming resumed with Matt Olmstead—original showrunner before the series premiere—stepping in to assist with remaining scripts as an executive producer. Previous showrunners include Ilene Chaiken, Barry O’Brien, and Sean Jablonski.
