Kodi, a popular online TV player software is gaining popularity with over 30 million users worldwide. Now even though the software itself isn’t illegal, it does allow users to download add-ons which can be, in fact, illegal. These illegal add-ons have been allowing Kodi users to start streaming premium content for free.

The chief executive of Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT), Kieron Sharp stated last year in an interview with The Independent, “There are the manufacture and importation of devices, and then the distribution and selling of those. We’re also looking at the people who are providing the apps and add-ons, the developers. [...] And then we’ll also be looking at, at some point, the end user. The reason for end users to come into this is that they are committing criminal offenses.

Now, in the fight against piracy, certain UK ISPs have started an email campaign as a part of the Get It Right movement to warn broadband users from downloading copyrighted materials. These emails give the users a 20 day period to stop engaging in the practice of downloading copyrighted content from peer-to-peer websites.

In the wake of this new situation, where ISPs are keeping tabs on their users, TVADDONS has posted an article, enlightening users on how to avoid being tracked by internet service providers while using the internet. They also offer details regarding how to prevent geoblocking.

According to TVADDONS, ISPs were the organization that used to fight for internet freedom. But now, as more and more ISPs are being acquired by larger media conglomerates, more and more sources of online content are becoming blocked. The internet has lost its virtue of being a free place and has fallen into the previous and prevalent status quo.

Following this argument, TVADDONS provided users with some tips and tricks involving VPNs, which can keep them off the radars of spying eyes, even of their ISPs. The use of VPN services is legal but users should still be aware that piracy is wrong and illegal.
