Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, which focuses on the mysterious adventures of the Joestar family across generations, has kept fans wanting more ever since its first anime adaptation. While the manga series by Hirohiko Araki made its debut in 1987, it only got its anime series adaptation in 2012. The story is split up into unique parts, each following a member of the Joestar family, from the end of the 19th century to modern times, typically having names that can be abbreviated to the titular "JoJo."
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean is the fifth season of the ongoing anime series, adapting the sixth part of the original manga series. In addition, Stone Ocean is the first arc to introduce a female JoJo, AKA Joylne Cujoh. While the anime's fifth season has been on a short hiatus since December 21, with 12 episodes out, Shonen Jump has decided to give manga fans some good news.
Shonen Jump has recently announced that they can read the first few chapters of Jolyne's journey on their website entirely for free, as JoJo fans wait for Netflix to announce when it will return with new episodes. The arc features Joylne Cujoh attempting to escape a maximum-security prison after being sentenced to 15 years for a crime she didn't commit!
Jolyne isn't a fan of her father's since he left her life quite early in her childhood. After Cujoh is framed for a crime that she didn't commit, she finds herself wrapped up in a plot that Dio Brando enacted from beyond the grave. The anime adaptation of the sixth arc quickly became one of Netflix's most popular anime series. However, fans have yet to find out when the streaming service will be airing new episodes.
Shonen Jump's Official Twitter Account shared the big news that the first EIGHT CHAPTERS of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean is now available on their official website, with SIX of these installments being FREE TO READ. The Shonen Jump app is available on the web, Android, and iOS with a monthly subscription option for $1.99 a month.
Although Netflix has yet to provide fans with new episodes from the Stone Ocean arc, there are many other JoJo's that anime fans haven't gotten to know yet. The seventh arc of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is titled Steelball Run, while the eighth is titled JoJolion. The following two arcs are entirely different stories from the ones fans have seen since they take place in alternate realities.
In addition, mangaka Hirohiko Araki has also confirmed that he's already working on the ninth part of the long-running franchise, titled "JoJo Lands," as of now. With the amount of content the manga has, including the spin-offs, it looks like it'll take the anime series a few more years to catch up to the manga.
