Exciting news for fans of the John Wick franchise: Lionsgate Television is bringing our favorite hitman to the small screen! A sequel series that expands the storyline of the John Wick films is currently in development, and we can't wait to stream it online.
The show, titled John Wick: Under the High Table, will pick up the storyline after the events of the 2023 film John Wick: Chapter 4. Here's everything we know so far.
Currently, the project is not affiliated with any network or streaming service. Lionsgate is presenting the project to potential buyers. It's also too soon to have a release date, but we will update this article with the info as soon as it is announced.
According to the logline, John Wick has left the world of the High Table in a delicate state. We will see new characters emerge with the goal of making their mark, as well as familiar characters continuing to uphold the old-world order. With a milieu of new and old elements, the series will thrust the Wick universe into a new era.
Yes! The star of the franchise will executive-produce the new series. Reeves is currently signed on just as an executive producer and is not involved in acting for this project.
Along with Reeves, John Wick: Under the High Table will be executive-produced by Chad Stalheski (who also directs the pilot episode), Basil Iwanyk (John Wick: Chapter 2), and Erica Lee (John Wick, Sicario). Robert Levine (The Old Man) will serve as writer, showrunner, and executive producer.
