Deadline has confirmed that Jason Momoa will play Lobo in the DCU. The Game of Thrones actor was linked to the role even before James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the reins of the DC universe. He wrote, "I collect comics, and I don’t do so much anymore, but he was always my favorite, and I always wanted to play Lobo, because I’m like, 'Hello? It’s the perfect role.'" The actor then said that if DC come around to asking him to play Lobo, it would be "a f*ck yeah." In the caption, Momoa wrote, "They Called," thus confirming his role. Â
There has been no announcement yet that DC Studios is making a film on Lobo. For now, it looks like Jason Momoa will appear as the character in other DC Studios films. In the pages of DC Comics, Lobo is known as a violent antihero from the planet Czarnia.Â
