What is La Palma About?

La Palma follows a Norwegian family traveling to the island of La Palma. They reach their hotel, settle down, and then go exploring only to find themselves in the center of a disaster. The volcano located right in the middle of the island paradise erupts spewing ash and toxic gases that threaten life around it.

With a limited number of boats and a lot of desperate people waiting to get off the island, the chaos is unimaginable. The clock is ticking for the family as they will have to get off the island before the tsunami that’s coming to envelop the place gets them. That is, if the ash, lava, and gas, don’t get to them first.

Writers Harald Rosenløw Eeg & Lars Gudmestad said the main focus of the series is to show the resilience of ordinary people when push comes to shove. They said, “The series shows ordinary people's limits being tested in the event of a disaster and how they push themself to overcome fears.”

Is There a Trailer for La Palma?

Yes, a trailer has been released and it follows a Norwegian family going to the Canary Islands with the hope that they will be able to spend a nice Christmas there.

Meanwhile, a researcher keeping an eye on the volcanic activity of the island discovers signs that it’s going to erupt.

She races to convince her colleagues that the worst is about to come true and that people on the island need to evacuate. And soon enough, her words come true and the family’s idyllic vacation turns into a nightmare when the volcano erupts, causing them to run for their lives.

But with only a handful of boats and planes, getting everyone out in time before the tsunami hits seems like an impossible task. Check out the trailer below:
