Will There Be a Skeleton Crew Season 2?

While Skeleton Crew has not yet been renewed for a second season, showrunners Jon Watts and Christopher Ford remain hopeful. Speaking to TechRadar, Watts emphasized that the first season was designed to offer a satisfying conclusion, but he added, "if people want to see more Skeleton Crew, we'd be happy to make more." 

Ford also shared his optimism, saying they're "dreaming of it [a second season]" and have already "come up with different possibilities, so never say never." Watts teased that the show could introduce "surprising people in the future" and hinted at potential crossovers with characters from The Mandalorian and Ahsoka. 

Ford added that a second season would explore how the young cast members grow and find their place in the galaxy. As of now, the show’s future remains uncertain, but the lack of cancellation leaves fans with a glimmer of hope. Given the show's connection to the broader Star Wars universe, there may still be a chance for Skeleton Crew to return in the future.

Skeleton Crew Viewership 

Skeleton Crew has struggled to find its footing, recording the lowest viewership of any Star Wars series on Disney+. As documented by The Direct, Nielsen streaming data reveals that its two-episode premiere garnered less than 382 million minutes watched, a record low compared to The Acolyte (488 million) and The Book of Boba Fett (389 million). Subsequent episodes failed to make Nielsen's Top 10, with under 306 million minutes viewed in the second week.
